Lunar Eclipse
« on: April 15, 2014, 01:21:32 PM »
...of the heart. Because it's red, get it? Hurr

It was sooooooo humid last night/this morning. I took these with my telescope but my lenses were fogging up pretty badly, even after I let it sit outside for a while. The upper atmosphere was turbulent too with wavy mirage lines. Even so, I got a couple decent pics. My camera batteries went dead before it was finished.

Mars was next to the moon and I tried to get a pic of them together, but couldn't situate my telescope in order to get both in frame. Bummer.

Did anyone else watch? Do you have pics? :)

Thanks for sharing these pictures ! I love the moon, and was looking forward to this.. and then it was too cloudy and rained so I couldn't see it at all. :(

Awesome pictures. I saw it. Couldn't sleep so I took the trash out at 1AM-ish. When I went to go back inside my cat got out (he is indoor only). So I got to see more of the moon, while I waited for him to come back. Not long, he just runs around a bit and then decides he has had enough. :P

It was amazing to see in person. Considering I didn't think the coloring would be that noticeable in person (with the naked eye). It was.

Like others here have said, we also couldn't see it because of rain and clouds.

Oooo what lovely pics!
Better than the ones I just saw on tv.
Didn't get to view it live... We're supposed to have a few more of these in the next year or so... I may have to get up early...

Neat pics! I tried to stay up for it but ended up just setting my alarm for like 2am and getting up for a few mins to take a look. It was a bit hazy from where I could see it, which I was a little disappointed at because the moon was quite bright & clear when I first went to bed, but still pretty cool!

Lots of fun space goings on this month. I made a point to go look at Mars last week when it was supposed to be at it's brightest.  ^.^
