I wish that they would of had the glitter inside of them instead of the outside :(
Yeah, I don't know why Hasbro has been having this huge aversion to putting glitter inside the plastic in G4.

If Hasbro starts making pony-themed dresses like Disney does, it could totally be a "Rarity's Pony Fashions" line...or just re-establish Pony Wear.

I think human-sized dress up dresses that Rarity made especially for children would be a hit.  Maybe even a play runway?

I think what we forget sometimes is the show is the toys backup. Really the show should adapt to the toy line rather than the other way around. So if the toys say Pinkie is going goth and opening a beauty parlour, then I am going with that :P Plus Goth Pinkie is one of the coolest toys in the line so far I think - not many ponies are ever given black in their hair or have such a different colour combination. :)

I totally see where you're coming from, but I honestly don't think that's the case anymore!
In past generations, definitely, it was a show based off of a toyline.
But I think in g4 it has definitely turned into a toyline based off a show.

Unfortunately not. The cartoon only exists to be an advert for the tv show. If Hasbro decided tomorrow to finish up the toy line, FiM would be canned just as quickly. Its got no function and it actually directly makes Hasbro no money - its just about pushing product. The difference in G4 is the sheer number of fans who have come to the cartoon and that therefore makes the show seem more important than the toy line to come people. :)

The G4 cartoon and toyline were developed at the same time, IIRC, but the cartoon wouldn't exist were it not for the toys - the cartoon exists to advertise the toys, after all.

More on topic, I personally like black tie Pinkie :) I adore pink and black together, it's probably my favourite colour combo.

The only bad thing I have to say about this set is about the really overpriced pony and purse set with the AWESOME looking playful brushable.  Grrrr...

I agree about putting the glitter in the plastic, like with the older sparkle ponies.  It does give them a fun texture, but I wonder how well it will hold up to play.

Yeah, Rarity would make more sense for a Boutique!  I wonder if they chose Pinkie Pie based on her color scheme or her personality?  Or just popularity?  I know pink/white/black has been a "thing" before, but I think purple/white/black could also look good :D

I'm a huge fan of G1 sparkle ponies, and the glow'n show ponies , however I don't like an idea of G4 sparkles after what happened to the G3 divine shines

Since the quality of the plastic is so cheap they are alredy rotting, as the quality of G4 ponies is even worse than G3, that would mean real sparkle G4 will rot even faster

I think the ponies from this set are pretty and I have got both glitter Wysteria and Pinkie (and I'm not a big fan of Pinkie!). Only peeve? The price here. TRU picked them up so it's £10 (about $16-$17) each for the 3" brushables.
Idly searching for: loose, good condition G4 Blossomforth, Starbeam Twinkle, Plumsweet. TTM Celestia doll's wings Within UK or EU only, please.
Will also take in Pretty Pony Club (UK magazine) fakies.

It's the same over here, prices are pretty bad.
I really like the line actually! I currently only own Wysteria but will probably be getting some more things eventually. ♥

Doesn't care for Pinkie at all, but I do think that the color scheme looks nice.
