MLP curtains & bedding? (+PC)
« on: April 10, 2014, 12:38:44 AM »
How hard to track down are vintage My Little Pony curtains and bedding? I'd love to have some curtains, or a sheet to make into curtains, but they don't turn up very often and their prices are all over the place.

Can anyone teach me more about them?  ^.^

From what I've seen you can sometimes get them on eBay but they're often quite pricey.

Really jealous of my cousin, she has a G1 bedding set from when she was a child. She's not even into ponies but she's too attached to the set to give it to me  xD

Curtains have been going around on Ebay a lot lately and every time it's a bit of a bidding war, with the price often going from $50-$70 or more, I'd say. As for bedding, flat sheets used to go for only $20 tops but checking Ebay it looks like two auctions recently went up to $60 for one! I'm pretty surprised at that, I've bought a number of flat sheets for cheap a few years ago. Fitted sheets sell for more and pop up less often. Some bedding sets have gone for around $100-$150 but in BIN auctions. An actual comforter is on Ebay infrequently, some recent sales say one for less than $80 and one for $150.

Cheapest still are probably the vintage sleeping bags which are also on Ebay frequently.

I wonder if you could use iron on transfers or fabric paint to make your own curtains?  I've toyed with the idea before but have never actually done it.  I wonder if the iron on would make the fabric too stiff to be curtain-y?  It would be a neat thing to try.

I will shortly be putting a pair of curtains up for sale. Was thinking of asking £50.

A set in nice condition would be cool, I wonder what postage would be? When you do put them up for sale would you maybe be able to give me a quick buzz? ^.^

Prices for them are all over the place. And there is quite the variety in them due to different releases of curtains, pillow cases, sheets, duvet covers. But they are also really really popular right now. I would agree with the $75-90 for a set of curtains. $40 for a sheet. $60-70 for a duvet cover. $15 for a pillow case.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Sometimes they are harder to find, as people buy them for the fabric and then chop it up to make other projects like dresses and bags... :(
