Tilas' Plushie Thread - May 15th - Trixie!
« on: April 01, 2014, 02:59:52 PM »
EDIT: May 20th-

I've moved all of my sales to the Custom Sales forum, the link is below. I thought it was better to just keep this one to showing off finished stuff. :)

Sweetie Belle... was at first a nightmare, then suddenly simple.  I couldn't figure out how to do her hair for WEEKS.  Then I got this really awesome how to sew plushies book and... ding. It made so much sense and suddenly her hair wasn't so hard anymore! LOL I never thought of doing a top stitch, but when the book showed it, it was like DUH. OF COURSE. So after that, the hair came together pretty fast. Yay!

My 2nd Scootaloo, when I get all 3 Crusaders done I want to make their little capes as well.

I really like Nurse Redheart, even if she doesn't get much screen time.  Her bun was interesting to do. Made a ball and squished it!

I did this cluster of Twilights, which was fun to do 3 at once and see who they differed. I still like Twi without wings, but that's just me.

Super-cute!  Your satin stitching is so neat and even - mine always looks....unraveled?

Was the book by any chance "Softies?"  I have that on order from Amazon, so just curious to see if that's what you used since you liked yours so much.  :)

It was called "Stuffed Animals: From Concept to Construction".  :) It's a wonderful book, and even has all sorts of patterns in it!

OC cutie marks for pouches, or for embroidery files themselves? I am learning how to do my own embroidery file from scratch, it just takes a little time.  Depends on the size and the difficulty of it. :)

...Maybe I'm just an unobservant dingbat but how long has an "Arts & Crafts Corral" been here? I don't remember it LOL. Or was it just "Art" before?

Haha, don't worry, it is new! Or actually you're right, it was called Pony Art before we changed the name to make it more explicit that all art forms are welcome here, not just drawings. :)

Your plushies are adorable! I particularly love Nurse Redheart and her removable hat, so cute! You also did an amazing job on Sweetie Belle's hair. Thanks for sharing your work!

I bought the embroidery files from ethepony http://ethepony.ecrater.com who makes the most awesome MLP embroidery files there are. They sew perfect every time. :)

Oh I love your Twilights :) The raised heads give them a slightly different style to other Twilights as well - they are all adorable but she is my favourite. :)
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING. :D

Okay, seriously, here. The body is my new doll pattern I've been working on this weekend.  I made the prototypes on Saturday, and this will be my first full doll. I started off with Pinkie because.... well, Pinkie.

Minky is lousy for clothing. Awesome for bodies, not for clothing. Tsk. I need to go and raid a fabric store it seems. But, for my first, not bad LOL. I am TOTALLY making this crap up as I go along. :XD: But for someone who's really never done clothing before, I am learning. A lot.  And it's actually kinda fun, even if it's not as fine tuned as I'd like.  I have nooooooooooooo idea how to do the hair though. That's going to be....interesting. I have a hair pattern for ponies, but not for peoples!

Your plushies are amazing!  The minky fabric makes them all look so soft and cuddly!  I'll be interested to see how EqG Pinkie looks when completed! :)
