And without Teddy Ruxpin's popularity in the 1980s, the NES and video games as we know them today may not exist!

Small. World.

Also...the discovery that Hasbro was making a video game console.

LOL.

My condolences to Ken's family. His contributions to millions of kiddos going to sleep listening to happy stories will not be forgotten. I liked Teddy. I wish mine still worked, I literally played my Teddy Ruxpin to death. Had a wear mark on my headboard from where he sat...

It looks like the shop is closed until June, but I'll leave this here.

http://www.dreeyoreshospital.net/

This wonderful woman repairs and restores World of Wonders toys. My little brother destroyed my original Teddy ages ago, so I bought a refurbished Teddy and a Grubby. Let me tell you, the moment my very first friend came to life in front of me for the first time in 20 years...tears were shed. :)

Aw!  RIP. :(

My dad used to work for Worlds of Wonder so I grew up with a few of these toys.  I loved Teddy (and Mother Goose) so I'm sad to hear this.

So sad.  :cloud:

I always wanted a Teddy Ruxpin, but my parents thought he was too expensive. All I got was a little three inch possible figure of Teddy.
