Sold in the Netherlands?
« on: March 15, 2014, 02:13:13 AM »
I know Italian ponies where sold most often in The Netherlands.
But as you al know Italian ponies came in 4 diffrent molds/versions.
Does anybody know which one of the first year/collector ponies was sold as regular in the Netherlands?

I dont think that's something we would ever be able to work out 100% for certain unfortunately. I am maybe remembering incorrectly but I think the early ponies when sold in Netherlands did not have Dutch or "Mijn Kleine Pony"" on their cards and it was not until later on in the line they were actually branded up in Dutch. If thats the case, unless someone has a MOC pony with some thing on the card - perhaps a price sticker in guilder or from a Dutch only store - or something similar then its hard to say for certain. And even then its not to say that the pony in the card is an example of the only type which would be released in Netherlands.

I would make a wild guess that it was probably only the earliest Italian CP releases were out in Netherlands as I think mostly you got French ponies. So it suggests that perhaps initially Netherlands was part of Italy's remit but then the French license came along and they took over.

I agree that it's probably not something we'd be able to determine :( There aren't actually many collector pose Italians to be found on card... Italy seems to have had them sold loose and also in plastic 'stable' boxes, so it could be that something similar existed elsewhere as well. If loose, there's pretty much no chance of working it out :(

Well, i think i've found a way...
If i check www.marktplaats.nl (THE website in the Netherlands for buying and selling stuff) i seem to see most regular mold versions (like the 4 stamped butterscotch and snuzzle i have posted)
So i quess the regular collector pose version were the ones sold most here.

I was going to suggest keeping and eye on what is available locally, but forgot to add it in! It's not an exact science, but it can be an indicator.

I've seen mostly the regular mold Italy's, but it's still not a certain fact because the others were produced less ;-)
Who needs some Dutchies? PM to buy/trade!
Also G3 mailorder, comic con and Bay Breeze for sale!

@tilly

I've seen them at marktplaats pretty often, so i quess they are the ones sold most.
There is a lot of discussion on all the diffrent Italy variations, but someone at Dutch pony forum told me the ones with 4 printed feet are the regular ones, and those i see a lot on Marktplaats, so yeah, i think thise are the ones sold most in The Netherlands.

Btw, still looking for Minty and bleu belle in this version.
I also have cotton candy and blossom in smaller variation for trade (trading them for the regular versions)

Thank you for your reply.
I've got Minty coming by mail this week, but thank you very much anyway.
I am however still looking for a Italian Bleu belle with 4 stamped CF feet....

She is kinda hard to find isn't she?
Minty with 4stamped feet wasn't easy ether, but found her here on arena.

It was a real adventure to find out which italy version i liked the most/looks the most like the usa common CF version....but i found it:P
Now it's a sport to find bleu belle in this version and also get blossom and cotton candy in the right version (got them in a different version now)
