Best way to identify ponies?
« on: February 22, 2014, 10:31:21 AM »
Hi everybody! I'm a pony lover who just rediscovered her childhood pony collection along with having a three year old who just adores her ponies as well.

I was just wondering, what's the best way to figure out the names and whatnot of the ponies I have? Other than Tropical Breeze (minus the wings) and Napper, I don't know the names of any of the ponies that I have. I believe most of the ponies I have are G1 and I also have a small box filled with random g3+ and McDonald's ponies as well.

My Little Wiki is a great help. :) You can search by color and eventually narrow it down. I've found several Ponies that way.

And of course, http://www.kimsites.net/dreamvalley/

This is THE classic G1 site ;) Everyone should always check this out.

www.mlpland.com has an identification machine, you can search by symbole

However, for quick and easy ID I would always suggest this site as well - its so easy to use :)

And third option is to always post pictures here and people will be more than happy to help you out!

Congrats on finding your childhood ponies :)
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

All of the above sites are wonderful.

I also feel compelled to shamelessly promote my newish site mylittleponycollection.info  i have lists of ponies by almost every feature (color, generation, year, gender, etc.)

I would also suggest posting photos here :)
