Doll that goes with g4's?
« on: February 19, 2014, 05:36:16 PM »
I am looking for a doll to customize into a g4 Megan, she needs to be a size that is relative to the g4 brushables the way g1 Megan is to the g1 ponies. Any suggestions? Thanks :)

Maybe a mini Disney Rapunzel doll would work?  I saw a similar one to the one below at Target recently.

What about a strawberry shortcake playmates doll.

about half way down is a pic of Angel Cake with her pony. Similar scale to the mlp.

And most of the  playmates dolls have awesome hair thick and great quality.

There's also Polly Pocket (the newer ones are close in size to the mini Rapunzel, iirc) or LPS blythes (I have two of the older ones and they're a bit taller than a Cadance-mold brushable)!

I would suggest an Obitsu if you can paint, they're a cute size and ultra posable >w< ♥!

Hasbro SSCs work pretty good.

I would agree with Hasbro SSC-  they are a little tall- but really go together well.

That Rapunzel does look good!

Here is another suggestion- vintage Mattel Liddle Kiddles or vintage Hasbro Storykins.  They would be a smaller type doll with a larger head.

Also some of the 80's Hasbro Moondreamers are shorter and might possibly work, but then again their heads might be too big lol.

Mattel Kelly dolls might be a good height.

I think dolls like Dawn, Dazzle, Glamour Gals would be too tall probably.

I meant the mini SSC dolls. I think the full sized ones might be too big.

Something about the stylized proportions of the ponies makes them look off with something that has more a more normal head to body ratio like Rapunzel.

I think the Minis are probably going to be too small and difficult to customize.  But I can take a picture later of one of the dolls with a pony- so you can see if that will work for you.  If you'd like a Hasbro SSC mini- I'd be more than happy to send you one.

This is much bigger than I had in mind (super cute dollie though! :D)

I will do some looking up on the other suggestions. (THANKS everyone!) I decided that I want to make a tiny Megan for a blindbag Sundance custom too. I doubt I will find a good doll in that size.

If I got the Lemon Meringue one I wouldn't have to rehair her. I could just repaint. Do their clothes come off or are the molded on? They also might be too tall.

My store didn't have the Rapunzel doll, so I will keep researching.
