Baby Bowtie help please?
« on: February 19, 2014, 11:25:09 AM »
Ok so I will try to make this as short as possible.
If its in wrong place Mods, Im sorry
I got 2 Baby Bowties one is from Canada and the other came from Germany. I was giving them a look over to see if I could let go of one and I notice that one of them has a light pinkish bowties symbol. On the feet they have all the same info. Everything is the same but the color in the Symbols. Hair is not faded at all on either one. What am I missing here???
Im not good with Nirvanas and don't have any That I know of, so any help with this puzzlement would be great! I tried looking for topics on this, although I did not search forever  & no luck

Calling hathorcat....Are you there?? Help Please  :)

I can take pictures next week when I come back from FL, but Im super busy packing when Im not on here lol
Glitter for everyone! :fireworks:

yes, their symbols just fade very easily so it's common to find them with their hair pink (their hair is not the fading pink one and doesn't fade as easily) and their symbols white. But their symbols are supposed to be pink :)

Wouldn't the hair fade as well? Or is it just the symbol that fades over time? It dosnt look like the one with white symbols has been in sunshine ever. The hair is Pink, but not rehaired or dyed. I just want to know how the symbol fades with out sun  :sheepish: Thank you for the help :)

Not all hair colors fade, or at least not quickly. Symbol paint usually fades a lot faster than hair with the exception of a few colors.

There are a few distinct shades of pink used in G1s; all of them are more prone to fading than any other colour because pinks and red pigments are the most volatile. However, there is of course the one shade [as per Posey, Wind Whistler] that fades if you mention sunlight. :P Baby Bow Tie [and adult Bow Tie] do not have that colour of pink - its a deeper pink shade. So while yes, with exposure to the sun, it will fade it will not fade at anywhere near the speed of the fading pink shade and it will take much more exposure for longer periods to see a difference.

In the same way pink hair is prone to fading, so is the pink pigment in paints - so its surprisingly common for some lighter pink symbols to bleach out. A lighter pink symbol will also fade out much quicker than deeper colours.

So its a balance of time. Clearly poor little Bow Tie has been exposed to the sun or UV long enough to fade her symbols [which can be a surprisingly short period of time] but not quite long enough to fade her hair [which for that shade is quite long].

I have had a couple with white symbols over the years, I think she is enchanting that way. :)
