FBR on pony cancer - effects over time?
« on: February 18, 2014, 12:17:40 PM »
Hello all, I was wondering if any of you have done a full body repaint on a pony with pony cancer/brown mold - and if so, what did it look like years later?  Is there any way the cancer could appear through the paint?
Thanks for your thoughts!

Lots of times and they look the same as they did when I first painted them. I've never heard a case of cancer coming through the paint.

I boil my baits first, and have never had an issue after painting also!

You can also always seal the pony before painting to make doubly sure.

As long as the paint is good and thick I wouldn't imagine a problem.  Theoretically, I could see a pony with a light coat or light colored paint allowing the "cancer spots" to show through the paint and that would get worse over time.  But I don't think we've seen that happen.
