I've never tried sunfading before so I don't know if that would be better. I do a light chemical, non-bleach soap soak for most of my problem ponies.I don't know if you'd want to try that if it still has the washer (even cleaned) inside it. I use ~2 tablespoons Bar Keeper's Friend, ~1 tablespoon dish soap (I use Palmolive free&clear), put in a zip baggie and put about a cup of warm water in it. Tease the water (shake it) so it's all mixed up then put the pony in and add more warm water to cover. Put in a warm place and turn over every so often. The longer you leave it in the solution the better. I've left really bad ones in for a week. It may remove blush after a day or so but paint and hair suffers no ill effects, but I would put hair up in a way that kept it out of the way and less likely to get tangled.Early experiment: http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,336210.msg894153.html#msg894153
