Ebay case... stalemate approaching. *sorted, thanks*
« on: February 12, 2014, 01:07:42 PM »
Hi all,

I won't go into details as it is not really relevant, but I think people can still help me  :)

I'm in an open case (I am the buyer) on a non-pony item. It is only the second day of the case being open and we seem to be heading towards an impasse.

Ebay cases are escalated after 8 days correct? My question is, what happens during those 8 days until that point if I stop replying as messages are no longer working to resolve the situation. Will it look negative on me that I haven't been responding? Or is it okay to go "this isn't working" and wait until the escalation day?

Thanks ^.^

The seller has three days to respond, since you say it's been two already, they only have one more day.  If they do not respond then you need to escalate the case so eBay can review it. Once they have reviewed it (usually 24 hours) they will side in your favor and refund your money.

If you don't escalate it yourself it's usually 30 days before it will automatically close out and eBay will not take any action against the seller. So it is important that you do it yourself.

Thanks for responding :)

She has responded, but we are not able to reach an agreement on how to proceed.

So I have to wait for the 8 days in this situation before I can escalate right? Or can I still do it earlier?

The case can be escalated on the third day from the day you opened it. So if yesterday was the 2nd, then you should be able to escalate it sometime today.  :)
