Beatles Brag!

So, I love love love the Beatles (although you could probably guess that based on my avatar and username)!  And tonight I was at a 50th anniversary of the Beatles coming to America party, and I had an awesome time.  I won a prize in trivia (a vinyl record that was missing from my collection, "The Beatles Story", which is a collection of interviews, etc.) and in general enjoyed the heck out of myself.  A few people were selling Beatle-y items, and well, I bought on of the coolest things ever, and it is one of the highlights of my Beatles collection.

I won't leave you in suspense any longer!

It is a piece of John Lennon's actual bath towel from his house!  Seriously!  And it is totally legit (certificate of authenticity, and I know the guy I bought it from and he has the single most extensive collection I have seen outside of a museum, actually, better than some museums.  So now I own part of something that a Beatle owned and used!  Gaaaah!  I'm so excited!  It is actually the first item in my collection to have been owned by a Beatle, so I'm thrilled.  Plus it was a steal at only $20!  How could I say no?

Wow, That is really awesome! I love the Beatles too! I really want to get that new U.S. Albums boxset that just came out, I don't have any of their stuff on vinyl tho.

I have never listened to The Beatles Story, but it sounds really cool tho.

This did remind me of that skit on SNL with Ringo when he hosted and they did an auction and were selling all of these things that the Beatles owned but when they tried to auction Ringo himself no one bid. It was so silly.

Congrats! That is totally awesome! I grew up on The Beatles so I can totally see how something like that would be an amazing find! My younger bro who is a bigger Beatles fan than almost anyone I know (he even named his son Jude after Hey Jude) would probably kill for something like that!

The Beatles are one of the few things that I love more than My Little Pony. Sounds like you had an awesome time and wow, a bath towel! Is it framed? I could see it hanging in a bathroom. A Yellow Submarine-themed bathroom, of course!

That really is cool, and I'm so happy for you. How did you enjoy the concert? I thought it was pretty fab, myself. It was great seeing Paul and Ringo on stage together again after so many years. I loved Katy Perry's cover of Yesterday.

Have you ever been to Beatlefest, HelloGoodbye? I went to the Chicago 2007 Fest. It was a lot of fun, though in complete and total honesty, I thought that the MLP Fair was tons friendlier. I'd like to go to both cons again though!
