When you buy a pony...
« on: February 09, 2014, 06:25:18 AM »
If that pony no longer has its original factory hair style, but has been washed and de-frizzed:

Would you rather that the pony is restyled to have it's original factory hair, or is it enough that the pony is frizz free?

I have a load of ponies to clean for sale and I'm not sure whether I need to restyle them all  :P

If the pony is supposed to have curly hair then I prefer it to be curly.  I have seen a lot of restored curls that are gorgeous!

I'm ok with the hair being just frizz free. I will more than likely restyle it myself...

I like ponies that are supposed to have curls to have curls, even if they're restyled but I like to clean up my ponies for display myself so I'd prefer them to arrive with me just frizz-free, or even frizzy to be honest, I'm happy to de-frizz but it is nice when that part's already done :) I never re-curl for sale, I just don't have the time lol.

Your ponies always look gorgeous too Sarah-Bee!

I think if I can speed up the styling process by using a hair dryer to set the hair then I'll go for it, otherwise it's just going to take far too long - I only have one week off work and a surprisingly large number of ponies to sort out

I like doing some curls, like on Barnacle...he just doesn't seem to fit straight locks. It isn't pirate-y :) but others I like the straight look. I'm really not a fan of straw curls at all unless they're factory - I have a nice Sugar Sweet with factory everything that would melt your heart.

I never even considered curling/styling the hair for ponies I'm going to sell, just de-frizzing. I'm not very good at styling for one thing, but also, I guess I just assumed their hair would get messed up in the mail, depending on the packaging. Now I'm wondering if people would prefer to buy ponies with re-styled hair!

For my own collection, though, I do like the curls, but again, I'm not very good at it and it will never look factory anyway, so I usually don't bother. Plus I'm lazy.

I don't mind it being frizzy, especially now that I know how to get it all cleaned up and restored and fixed.  =]

Not exactly a collector, but a mom to a 4yo who *loves* MLP--I have no problem buying ponies with non-styled hair. She loves all the ponies, and hairstyle does not matter. Sure, it's nice to have it conditioned and de-frizzed (bonus!), but definitely not necessary for curls.

As long as it's de-frizzed, I'm happy.  :)

While the factory curls are nice I've found (for me at least) removing them from the packaging including original box/card is usually enough to mess up their hair anyway. De-frizzed is definitely a bonus but I wouldn't worry about trying to get their hair back to its original factory curl for selling. A lot of us love still doing their hair ourselves. (its an excuse to return to childhood and play ponies again) XD

Depends on the condition. Super frizzy hair I would prefer to be smoothed out and lose its original factory style, but a little bit of frizz is okay by me.

I like re-styling mine but i only do a soft re-style I dont like to use any heat. I wouldn't worry about giving them there curls back though, unless you want to, I am sure their new owners will have fun doing it

I'm so bad at styling it's appealing to see the pony I'm buying already has a nice hairdo.
