A word of warning for buying blindbags from Hong Kong
« on: February 05, 2014, 11:30:17 AM »
I don't know if it's because that is where they are made, or that is just where all of them end up, but if you see blindbag ponies for sale without their packaging for extremely cheap prices chances are, they are a factory reject. I have attempted to buy two blindbags from Hong Kong on separate occasions. The first, had extremely shoddy symbol work, the second was completely missing the tail.
Also, be aware that the seller mangoflavorcm uses stock photos of blindbags, and not actual photos of the one you will be receiving.

Yes, ebay sellers from China are generally selling factory rejects; I mostly buy them for baits. However, I did get a Skywishes brushable from mangoflavorcm missing the first stripe in her hair, messaged her about it, and she sent me a replacement.

Which pony did you receive without a tail? If you want to get rid of it, I'd be happy to buy it for a bait. :)

I received Comet Tail. Ironically enough tail-less xD I feel sad, because I really wanted him. He's a pretty pony. He's also got a gouge out of his leg, probably because the tail attaches around there at the tip.
I contacted the seller about it. I haven't heard a response. Maybe they'd send me a replacement, but IDK

If Mango is the seller that you purchased from, they are pretty good about correcting problems and usually respond within 24-48 hrs. I've purchased several items from them, some have come in looking mint and others not so much.

Hopefully they get back to you soon and provide you with a resolution that you are happy with.

mangoflavorcm? Never had trouble with him...sorry you had trouble :(

Chinese sellers tend to reuse photos ALOT and they usually aren't as described. junjie and xhrong are sadly the ones i would avoid as well >_<

Thanks for the reminder about the factory rejects being sold.

MP and Shiromisa are the experts on buying blindbags  :P, so their advice is correct.

Yeah. I was surprised. He arrived without a TAIL! How could that mistake happen?

I understand that frustration. Kinda like the one I ordered with the unpainted tail and got painted

And descriptions say "You will receive the pony in the photo"

That definitely isn't right. I hope these sellers will realize there are collectors out there and people who actually look at the photo and receive what they see. And they ask for positive feedback...well...I would just leave no feedback at all out of sympathy.>_>

I've never had a problem with mango...and remember it's still Chinese New Year, so yu may not get a response for another couple of days. Be patient, I'm sure they'll make it right

Yes unfortunately most of the ponies we see on ebay from Chinese based sellers and on Taobao are all rejects or items for one reason or the other a factory decided not to send to the client. :( However, a lot of the sellers are super helpful and I hope you will be able to resolve it.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
