Selling outside of EU/US
« on: February 05, 2014, 10:03:05 AM »
I plan to narrow down my MLP collection and will filter out a good number of G1s, G2s, and G3s, their condition range from bait to NM and some MIB G2s however most of them are common and I wonder if people would still be interested in them considering the International shipping charges?

For instance, to ship to the US it would cost approximately $8 for a single pony in a padded envelope and $20 for a small box that goes up to 450 grams (that's almost 1 pound) which I believe can hold around 3-4 adult ponies.

Are these prices reasonable enough to sell them here?

It might be interesting for someone to buy a lot. When I buy from america or anywhere in Europe it's about the same in shipping costs.
Who needs some Dutchies? PM to buy/trade!
Also G3 mailorder, comic con and Bay Breeze for sale!

I would say yes.

If it was a pony, or ponies, that I really wanted or had been searching for for a long time, then yes I would be willing to spend that much on shipping. I'm sure some people might disagree, but I think you'll find that there would be quite a few people willing to pay a little more shipping for a pony they really wanted. It just depends on the person, and on the pony.

Sometimes if I'm buying more ponies it'll justify the cost for me. if I buy from the US it's pretty expensive, but if there's several ponies I need from the same seller, that makes it worth it for me, because if I added up three or four lots of local postage, then I've actually saved money!

I like to think people who buy from other countries are used to high shipping costs. As long as you're up front about them and explain options to people you should do some custom. :) I get buyers from Australia fairly often and shipping to there is pretty much as expensive as it gets.

I LOVE buying from the UK! It's the price of local postage here - I'm totally jelly that you guys think that's 'expensive'!

I think those prices sound fine :) If you are charging what it costs, then its a price which most people will already expect. when buying from the US. I think for international shipping they sound more than fair and pretty typical.

Thank you so much everyone, I wasn't sure if it would be worth trying but good to know there are people willing to pay these rates. I'll start sorting them out this week and hopefully will start selling them by next weekend :)
