Poor Light Heart's tail
« on: February 01, 2014, 03:47:48 PM »
I got her in a trade today (the bed version), and went to brush her hair, and her tail fell right out in clumps. I was unable to save it.

She didn't have the "tie" around her tail anymore, so I guess that's what kept the tail in.

So.. has anyone been able to replace the tail on this gal? How would I do that?

My childhood Light Hearts tail is like that too, she has few strings of it, almost all of it has fallen off. Because i liked to play with her in the water  :lookround:

I have seen ones with a good tail, i have atleast one. Bought it from ebay years back.  :)

Ugh...it is that holder around her tail. I don't think they are the only thing holding the tail in but I think they are a big contributor to ensure it doesn't fall out completely. I did once try to take one of these apart but removing anything seems to damage a different part of it. Unfortunately your best bet will be adding a new tail from the outside. As long as she is on display then a cable tie on the tail forced through from the outside should hold the tail in place.

Oh so bad for you

I have one since my childhood. I played a lot with my ponies in the water, but almost all those times I let my Light Heart in the border of the bathtub because I had fear that the water damage the pony movement  >_<

And since these days I brush her tail very very slowly.

In the pic it seems to be many hair on her tail, but if you compare her tail with other G2 she is almot bald lol

Yes, she was missing the pink ring and the plastic clear thing under it.poor sad, tailless girl. :(. I may be able to make her a new tail with close-ish colors, but I'd have to.... Hot glue on the outside and cover it over or something?

I received that version of Light Heart years ago to try and fix.. never got it done. However, her tail was not falling off in clumps... it was only cut and missing that tail ring piece. To me it sounds like the glue that was holding the tail there has become weak. I have yet to figure out how to work on the one I have...

Hmmm....its a bit extreme but if you tied a knot in the middle of the tail and then literally melted it down a little you would get a solid area which would be easy enough to hot glue into a small cap of some kind. And then glue the cap on to the base of the pony?
