So, instead of the snow all the surrounding areas are getting we get this junk.......

I feel for you Kaos, that is what we normally get too, but this winter we have actually gotten some snow.

I have rain pics?! LOL - I am so sorry Kat - I hate when snow does that. I either want it lying properly on the ground or not at all not a half hearted effort!

No see, that's not snow at all. It's piles and piles of sleet. LOTS of it. And it's still pouring down. Looks sorta like snow from a distance, but it's wetter and harder.

No snow here. Though it can,it is rare. Would you like sunshine? With lots of blue sky?
What we need right now is rain, lots and lots of it.

Good luck getting your snow. It's a novelty to me, I've only been around it a few times in my life.

thats not even a good picture... xD i mean i could mention that there is a 4 foot high childrens picknick table on our back porch that can only be distinguished by the lump of snow near the back. xD

worst part is, its been too cold to even go play in, they say to just stay inside or risk a quick frost bite.
They dont usually close schools around here for snow and ice, its mostly just temps. they budgeted for 5 snowdays this year, weve already had 7, so it looks like the kids will be making up some school in spring, not that my son minds xD.

Seriously though, I would trade snow for sleet at this point. My balcony looks like this...

...which isn't a bad thing in and of itself, but the sliding doors are made of metal and tend to freeze shut. To get out on my balcony I actually had to defrost the tracks with a dehumidifier, because I`m stubborn and don`t like going downstairs. It took 10 minutes.

Then I tried to open the screen door by scraping the ice off the tracks with a knife. When that didn't work I had to get my dad to smack the bottom of the screen with a hammer, which finally did the trick. Oh, Canada...
