sunfading white baby ponies
« on: January 28, 2014, 11:21:08 AM »
Hello...is it safe to sunfade a yellowed baby glory and moondancer.
I live in the rainy grey area of Kent. ...its green due to all the wet weather!  So was wondering how long it will take. I know to wrap the ponies hair/eyes/symbols well in tissue/foil and patience patience patience.
I've never sunfaded myself so any help/inspiration will be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

I recently sunfaded my Baby Glory.  I didn't keep her in the window for a long time, maybe two weeks or so as she wasn't very discolored.  I live in Colorado (USA) and we have very sunny weather so she got pretty white in that time.  I didn't have any trouble with sunfading her and I didn't even take the time to cover her hair and symbols (not recommended of course but I'm being honest).
If wishes were horses, they'd be My Little Ponies.
Thanks to moonflower for my adorable adoptable!

I've had great success sunfading both those babies. One had a bunch of highlighter spots and I left her in around 5-6 weeks checking on her every other day to turn her. I did cover hair and symbols with foil though :)  Both came out beautifully! Good luck!

Both of them can be prone to age marks which means they can burn. However, even with that being said I have seen lots of people successfully fading them. I would suggest going for it - the UV over here is not that intense so it will not be a super fast process any way - and just keeping an eagle eye on them :)
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
