Ooh, cool idea! So, if someone else wanted to try something like this, could you post what type of pedometer/program you're using? This sounds like something I might like to try! I wonder how long it would take me to "walk" to my grandparents' house -- which is as far away in the country one could possibly get (I live in GA and they live in WA).

I just use an Omrom pedometer for the walking and Google Earth for the measuring.

Ooh, I have a postcard of the state of oklanhoma. its a basic drawing of the state with with roads and stuff on it, not from a specific town. I picked it up in 1998 when I took a greyhound bus from NY to Arizona. FYI i will NEVER do that again.!

Latest update. I've completed 23 days of walking now, and crossed the Canada/US border at Coutts last night. That's 68.29 miles of walking. Naturally, I would have crossed it earlier if I hadn't been smote with that flu bug, but that's all right. I'm just glad to be well again.

Here's the courthouse in Shelby, which I "saw" on Day 32. I have been in Shelby for real because Mr. Stomper and I paid a visit to Great Falls and we passed through. I remember stopping for a Subway sandwich, too. Ack! Bread! (In my defense, this was obviously a few years ago.)

Anyway, that's how I'm doing. It's melting outside, so perhaps I will be able to go on outdoor walks again soon.
