I prefer to buy on the arena vs buying on ebay, you know the majority of people here are collectors, so they know the terminology, they give accurate descriptions and it's pretty close knit here.

I think the best advice is to look at these transactions, the way you would look at an ebay transaction. You want to make sure that you check the sellers feedback, maybe see if they have any current issues in the trader thread, ask lot's of questions to make sure that you're getting exactly what you're looking for, including asking for additional pictures if needed.

If you pay using paypal you will still have buyer protection, assuming you pay as goods and not as a gift.

I've had great experiences with other members here :)

The Arena is the place to buy and feel Safe.
We have our wonderful mods here for advice
and we have ture blue sellers.
Check out the Arena Classifieds
Arena Sales Thread and always look at Seller Feedback or if someone has had problems with a member check Trader Support, search mode should help.

The Arena is a Safe place to buy but still be Cautious, stuff happens.

Yes while the mods here don't have the power that ebay does (to take the money if you don't ship), it's still just as safe if you pay with paypal, and keep an eye on your case window. The bonus here is that it's a tight knit community, and there's an expectation of honesty - be honest or lose your reputation, and be possibly banned. We're all friends here, and that creates a safety net where we all help each other out. If a scam does happen, we try to make things right. There's lists of worrisome sellers/buyers on ebay and other sites too... so if you do decide to go the ebay route, you can check to see if they've given anyone else grief beforehand - our mistakes help each other out here! Generally you get better prices here, and more collector-orientated descriptions, like Shelti mentioned. Overall, the Sales and Trades forums here are my favourite place to buy ponies.

Yes! Correctly labelled Nirvanas are one of the many benefits of the arena! You KNOW what you're getting, because it's been confirmed by the community.

I have bought quite a few from members here, its a great experience and a good way of making friends!  The Arena is the only way I will purchase ponies from outside the UK.  This is because I trust the sellers here, they know what they are selling and are usually very honest about shipping costs and they valuation of the ponies. Ebay sellers can be a bit *ahem* over-enthusiastic about labelling "Rare HTF Vintage 1980's pony" on everything which can be dauting, especially for a new collector.

Anyway, I hope you have fun shopping :)
