Happy New Year!

We had a pretty quiet one... cards and a few drinks (oh to be growing old  ) but the kids slept in a tent for the first time in the backyard. They had loads of fun

Happy New Year !! I had planned to go out with my bf to meet some friends and have a jolly good time at this awesome bar, but... we're sick so we stayed home together Still had a great time, watched the fireworks on tv, watched a film and ate chicken soup ! xD

Happy New Year. May it bring joy and a new start.
Spent the days running up to New Years Eve house sitting. My BFF and family made it home last night, just in time for us to go to the fireworks show. Afterwards we trapsed around the historic area with the out of town guests (we played tour guides).

Managed to get awesome viewing spots for both the 9pm and Midnight fireworks shows.
Plus didn't get stuck in traffic (and people) afterwards.

There was funnel cake. MMmmmm funnel cake.

Happy New Year! 

Hubby took me to an SCA party last night. I was really bored at first (SCA is his thing and not really something I'm into at all but I will go to events or to his practices with him occasionally) but by the end of the night I was having fun playing games and stuff. It was probably the most exciting New Years Eve we've had in years. We usually just stay home, watch the Times Square ball drop on TV and try to avoid the drunk crowds. Right now we're working on making black eyed peas, cornbread and greens.  We'll be making corned beef and cabbage too but probably not until next week.
