Favourite dolls of 2013
« on: December 31, 2013, 02:04:44 AM »
What was your Favourite dolls that you bought/received in 2013??

I loved all the dolls I received this year, but I tried to keep my group shot as small as possible. It was very hard to choose.

Any ways here are mine:

I got this little guy this year-  fairly recently actually.  I haven't taken pix of him yet, but he looks just like the stock photos on Pipos. http://piposland.com/shop/step1.php?number=1077&b_code=B20120503030359&c_code=C20120503030857

He's remarkably cute...

Nope, can't choose just one; I've gotten too many amazing dolls this year, including another fairyland, a dollzone and a soom. And that's just my resin babies!

Can't choose just one! I would have to say my resin babies are my faves. Willow, Oona, and Cornelius. They made my life so much brighter by bringing me new friends and giving me a new passion.

Oh gosh, 2013 was an incredibly busy dolly year for me!  Today I was looking at my list of dolls from my DoA profile and editing in the names of some of my new girls who just finally got names today.  And then I looked at their arrival dates:

Quote
Lutra [DF Pet-Ari Dalsoo] *01/25/11*
Amber [CherishDoll Limited Unicorn Molly]  *11/13/12*
Nerine Elanor [SOOM Beyla]  *01/10/13*
Brooke [Boy and Girl Aurora]  *02/23/13*
Robin [Tan-Skinned PKF Vanilla]  *11/30/13*
Aubrey [Tan-Skinned MNF Chloe]  *11/30/13*
Nessa [MNF Juri 2013]  *12/19/13*

Unnamed [Tan-Skinned Pukipuki Pong Pong]  *WAITING*
Willow [LoongSoul Limited Centaur Addie]  *WAITING*

It's been almost 3 years since I bought Lutra, my first BJD.  I didn't buy another doll until I purchased Amber in September of 2012, then received her a couple months later.  That's when the dolly bug bit me.  I started my layaway on Nerine in November 2012, but she arrived in January.  That means that in 2013, I brought home 4 new dolls and a head!  :faint:

I suppose if I had to choose just one doll, it would be Nerine; the very first doll I ever wanted was Soom Beyla, after finding this picture on Flickr:

(Not my pic, obviously, it links to the original)

I googled Beyla immediately after seeing that pic, realized she'd been a very expensive limited doll, and resigned myself to never owning her.  I bought my Pullips and Lutra, but every time I saw a Beyla picture, my heart broke a little.  Shortly after bringing Amber home, I felt inspired to finally post a bit on DoA to get my marketplace access and then I searched for Soom Beyla, on a whim.  I found Nerine several pages back for a great price ($450 for the full human doll, hoof leg parts, an outfit, several wigs, a few pairs of eyes, and the original box/paperwork).  I sold my Pullips to be able to afford her.  Bringing her home was the realization of an impossible dream.

But I love every doll I brought home last year.  I bought Brooke on a total impulse at a dolly meet in February, literally minutes after telling someone I would never buy an SD doll because they were just too big.  Then I saw her sitting butt-naked on the sales table with no eyes, hair, or face and I just couldn't put her down.  I would walk away, only to come right back and stare and hold her some more.  I had just paid off Nerine and had no money with me or in the bank.  Finally, I searched out the seller anyway and she let me take Brooke home with nothing more than a piece of paper with my email and phone number and a promise that I would PayPal her $50 a month for the next 6 months.  I was totally giddy with excitement (and still continue to be amazed at how trusting the woman who sold her to me was, letting me just walk out the door without paying her a single cent).

In August, I ordered my first two Fairyland dolls during the tan-skin event: MNF Chloe (tentatively named Aubrey) and PKF Vanilla (Robin - just named her today).  They arrived right after Thanksgiving and are everything I had hoped for and more.  FL really does make some amazing dolls; they pose so well and are really fun to photograph.

And with those two, I got a MNF Juri '13 head.  I had promised her to my mom, but fell in love with the sculpt when I saw her in person and bought myself one on the marketplace!  No body yet, but that's ok.  I love my Nessa already!

There are two dolls that were ordered in 2013 still, but aren't completely paid and certainly aren't home.  My mom put down a deposit on a tan Pukipuki Pong Pong for me for my birthday and a tan Pukipuki Ante for herself.  I'll get her in July.  And last night, I ordered the last doll of 2013: one of the limited centaurs from LoongSoul.  I've made the first of 6 payments on her and don't expect to hold her in my hands until the fall.

Everyone got such lovely dolls this year...WildLace, I'm in love with that 17" Ariel   I have the singing Aurora and they're beautiful dolls.

This year wasn't an extremely busy doll year for me, really.  I got several Monster High dolls, but then I turned around and sold half of my collection a month or so ago, lol.  I can't really remember WHICH ones I got this year.

I did get all of my current Blythe family this year - it took a few purchases and some selling off, but it didn't take long to get the perfect trio of girls for me.

Of course, my favorite dolly acquisition of the year was a whole Emmett - I've had his head for almost 2 years now, but he just got a body in March of this year.

I brought home 6 BJDs in 2013, and I think my faves would be two of my Soom Teenies, Keny and Bygg.

There are WAY too many favorites for 2013. I would say my favorite dolls I've brought home are LE Anna, LE Wedding Rapunzel, Disney Designer Princess Jasmine and Rapunzel and Fairytale Designer Couples Rapunzel/Flynn and Jasmine/Aladdin. There were plenty of MH dolls that I loved getting to, but these Disney dolls are super duper special to me!

I bought three pairs from there (Byggs' eyes are "Luminos"), they are all gorgeous and the seller was lovely to work with.
