How to pc your bought customs?
« on: December 28, 2013, 07:00:53 AM »
Hi!
So I´m in the middle of making an inventory on my collection with current prices and so on. I have a bunch of customs (around 40 of them) and I was wondering how I can pricecheck them? Should I ask people here with photos for an estimate? Or should I put the prices I bought them for?
Any ideas? How would you have done?

I would base my prices by who the artist was, the quality of the design, what I paid for it and what other customs that seem similar in skill and quality sell for.

You can get a better idea of pricing by looking at the "Commission an Artist" thread below, here you will see a good chunk or artists in the MLP community as well as examples of their work and how much they charge.

If you aren't sure, why don't you PM the artists asking how much it would cost to have the piece replaced? Ultimately that's what the insurance value should be, the cost of providing a replacement.

I agree. I'd base the value on what you originally paid for the piece and/or what the artist would charge to replace the piece.
