Do you want all of the ponies or just the ones you like?

I must have all G1s! This includes Nirvanas and yes I know that's a huge goal but the idea is that I'll never be done collecting and always have something to get

With other gens I just collect the ones I like

With money being tight and space being limited I choose to only purchase ponies that I really like/love. However I'd like to believe that even if I had lots of money or extra space, I would still only purchase ponies that I absolutely adored, collecting for me isn't about being a completionist, it's about enjoying everything in my collection

Yes, I do want all the G1s and want to complete them. Originally I didn't plan on collecting ones I didn't like as much, like Dance 'n Prance, but they all grow on me (especially when I spend time cleaning and styling them), so I have given into wanting them all.

I collect only the G1 that I like, but that's most of them   I do only keep one of each.  There are certain styles/sizes that I don't like/collect like sweetheart sisters or teeny tiny as well as a few individual ones I don't see the appeal of because of symbols or colors.  Like Chuck E Cheese baby pony (other than the execs at Chuck E Cheese, whoever thought that was a good idea?), Rockin Beats, or multiple versions of a "bride" pony.  That last one is mainly since I have a childhood Pony Bride and see no need for Tux n' Tails to have more than one wife

I only get the ones I like (out of al gens) and luckily I don't feel the need to complete sets. The only quirk I have is when I buy something G4 Rarity related I always need the corresponding Applejack to go with it. At first it was because I like them together but now it just became a habit I can't drop. It has a bright side to it though. Since AJ is unpopular it keeps me from buying too many Rarities

I want (and so far have) all the G4 brushable ponies, loose.

Since I'm just starting out collecting the G2's I think I'll be more selective and only get the ones with the colors I like.

with G1 I collect some, but i am trying to complete a couple of sets especially my teeny tiny babies (i love them) I'm just missing 2 now .
as for g4 gotta catch em all It's really hard getting a hold of variants though. I really love my brushables and funkos. <3

Right now, I'm content with reacquiring just the ponies I really liked from my childhood, but if I happen get a particularly unique or pretty one in a thrift store "grab bag" that I didn't have as a kid, I'll probably still hang onto it.

I have written a huge explanation of my G1 choices in my wish list, there's a link in my sig. Basically I have quite a rigid list and I only buy from there. Sometimes I squeeze in a few others if I'm 'saving' on postage, especially G3s

I only collect G1.. And I want all of them. Not all nirvanas though, that would be impossible.

All the ponies I have complete UK/Euro G1s so for me its all of them...but then again I like them all so I am covering all bases.

hmm for now I just want the ones on my wish/want list & the ones I have but........ some others do seem to be sneaking there way into my collection hehe  so who knows where I'll end up

I only get the ponies I really like, I don't have a desire to have them all. But, as others have said, there are a lot that I really like.
