G1 princess question

We recently got some of the G1 princesses. My daughter loves primrose!  I noticed though that some have a tuft(for lack of a better word) of tinsel at the front of their mane. Primrose doesn't though. Why is that? Is there more than 1 set of princesses?

Yes, there are two sets. The second set has the tinsel forelock.

Here you go...as himmie says there was a first set which your Primrose is from and then the next year there was a second release of princesses with the tinsel forelocks
