well my birthday was both very good and very bad. saw Wicked, which was awesome, dad was in the hospital with diabetes, which was less awesome... but the bf, Nick, gave me 29 ponies and a plushie Dr Whooves cause I was turning 30, trailing throughout the house- to my toothbrush, to my coffee cup etc (cause I had to get up at 2am for work)... and after the show he took me to a fountain we both love that we drive by all the time, where he finally popped the question. =D been dating for like 10 years and I finally got THE ROCK... and when we got to the car he gave me the last pony, the Bride with her veil, cake, and comb. =P

and it turns out he asked my dad for permission back in may, at a civil war reenactment, when he was surrounded by muskets and people all too willing to hide a body for dad. love how he went old fashioned, I know my dad was prolly tickled by it. =P

now im givin him a hard time about what hes gonna have to do for my next birthday... 31 ponies, a trip to japan, catch a Ki Rin for me... still working out my list of impossible demands. =P

still having moodswings and minor meltdowns just from too much stress this week, but I am happy that its finally official, tho weve been 'unofficially engaged' for like 4 years now- its nice to have it official now. =P

*and my dad is doing a bit better now, they discharged him from the hospital on Thursday (he was in for 3 days) and hes going to call the eye doctor type person on Monday to schedule a couple surgeries, one to cauterize the bleeding behind his eyes (hes legally blind from it atm) and a follow up one to remove the cataracts to hopefully further improve his vision. hes on 4 shots of insulin a day and 2 pills to try to bring him down to normal (he was at 525 bloodsugar when he got in on Tuesday, with bp of 119/207) and theyre trying to muddle thru the new diet. hes a happy camper. =[

so yeah its been an emotionally confusing week.

Happy (belated) birthday!

I'm so very sorry to hear about your dad.  I know it seems rough now, but hopefully after the surgeries he will be feeling much better.  Hang in there!

On the plus side, CONGRATS on the official engagement!!  What a wonderful boyfriend (fiance)!!  Where he proposed and how he used the bride pony at the end...how ADORABLE!!!!
