Mine was a hidden treasure  I thought ahhh man, I have a HK Moondancer! Wasn't the case at all. I'm still glad my boyfriend told me to buy the lot even tho the others looked terrible.

Looking at the eyes, I think she also has a Hong Kong Moondancer, but I could be wrong

Ok, lots more pics after a quick bath. She has some stray marks and some glitter loss, but over, she is in nice shape. At least for me who only has childhood ponies, second hand, yard sale and thrift ponies (although I have scored some very minty ones). The pics wash her out a bit, but I have her next to Confetti who i think is pretty white for being a childhood pony and Masquerade who I know is a darker yellow than what I think yellow Moondancer is supposed to be based on what I have read/seen. Her head was nearly off, so I popped it too fit inside pics. Hope this helps solve this mystery. If she is the yellow one, is she considered a nirvana? Someone mentioned a Hong Kong one, what is the difference there? Please enlighten me on this, Thanks.

definitely looks genuine to me, congrats! I love Yellow Moondancer and yours looks very mint condition!

She looks authentic yellow to me too. It's a brighter and more even yellow than the yellow-aged regular Moondancers.   

It's not unual to find Nirvana ponies in North America. I bought two different lots from Canada that each contained Peru items. They were different sellers, different areas of Canada, and sold to me in different years.  It wouldn't surprise me that a scandinavian pony found it's way over here

By the way, I believe both the regular and the scandinavian yellow Moondancer have identical hoof stamps (Hong Kong), so you can't really go by those marks to tell them apart.

As far as I know there are two types of yellow Moondancer, the Hong Kong Moondancer (who was released in Europe) and the Italian Moondancer, both of which I would consider Nirvana.

They are both hard to find and worth (last I checked) about $50-$80.

That's a Yellow Moondancer. I've seen enough authentic Yellow Moondancers (HK and Italy) compared to yellowed HK Moondancers to be certain. I would bet my alternate birthflower pony on it.

Regarding location: I bought a Yellow Moondancer from Australia, and I've seen at least one from sale from New Zealand as well. Since the alternate birthflowers were sold there, is it possible Yellow Moondancer was sold in Australia? The person I bought my mint-y Yellow Moondancer from on ebay years ago was not a collector and had no idea of what she had for sale.

Then again, I found a UK Daffodil many years ago at a San Jose flea market, so ponies certainly can travel.

Wow, thanks for all the info.  I am super excited.  I actually have a Nirvana pony.  I never thought that would happen, let alone finding one at at thrift store.  I thought Mimic at the thrift was awesome.  I have had some good pony luck.  I wonder what her little life has been to come into my part of the world and my hands from the thrift store, plus to be in nice shape.  She must have been treated well.  Does anyone ever wonder their ponies stories, I know I do.  Well, thanks again, one more quick question.  Should I tackle her faded ink spots with sun fading or leave it or what would you all suggest.  They didn't really come out much with acetone, a little but not a lot.  Any suggestions would be great.
