Grr! I knew this was too good to be true!

For the last few months I've been after a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Gamecube.  The ones on eBay were WAY overpriced and I don't like the one for the Wii (I don't like motion control).  I finally found one at a Gamestop in town (leftover from when they used to sell Gamecube games) and snagged it for $7.  I popped it in the Wii last night and, just my luck, the disc was too scratched up for the Wii to read.  I'm trying everything I can to fix the disc.

Don't you just HATE it when something is too good to be true?

You would think!  I figured that, since it's an older game that they don't sell anymore, they just didn't think too much of it.

If it's from Game Stop, I'd contact them and tell them what happened.  Part of their policy for buying used games is that they can't be scratched and must still play.  I'd try to sort it out with them.  Also, they sell a product called "disk skip fixer" (or at least they used to) that has saved quite a few discs that my husband and I have had that we swore were too far gone.  Best of luck - it's so sad when these things happen

I'm reticent to take it back to Gamestop.  Since it's a game line they don't sell anymore, who knows what they'll do with it?  Or if they'll even take it back.

Right now, I have it slathered in glass cook-top cleaner (since we don't have any plain white toothpaste).  If this doesn't work, my next step is going to be going by the used game store and see if they can run it through their fancy disc resurfacing machine for me.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that My mum swears by rubbing banana on the disc, and then cleaning.  I've never tried it myself, so maybe research it first haha, but who knows, it may work!

Cook-top cleaner was a no-go as was baking soda paste. :<

Looks like I'll be making a trip to the game store tomorrow afternoon.

Got the DPCI code, asked the store clerk but he stated that their was a mix up and they have the same codes as the other FS's on the shelves :/
