This is good for creativity but I was so worried the whole time that I wasn't doing the right thing. Her list included, well, everything, but the first thing was ravens or crows and a bit after that dead trees. So that's what I went with.

loginOkay so she was a Powder in a past life. I chose a G1 because I knew I'd be sculpting a lot and wanted a bigger area to do that. The tree branches were made with wire and foil and sculpted with Apoxie. The birds are made from polymer clay and attached with wires, reinforced with Apoxie.
Originally, there was going to be a lot more birds but I had a hard time with posing them and scrapped half a dozen in the process. Also, the whole thing turned out a larger scale than I had intended and I didn't want it to look too busy.
I wanted to incorporate fall colors somewhere but since the tree had no leaves, those fell on the pony (the colors, not the leaves). The birds were painted black and then dry brushed metallic blue and purple.
I also made a little lollipop pumpkin extra in the midst of bird frustration-
