I know there is a pre-order right now-- but any thoughts on possible availability at actual stores? 

It doesn't say online only, just exclusive to TRU. And, TRU seems to be bad with their pre-orders from what I remember reading.

My husband, who is not a big pony fan-- nor a big Pinkie Pie fan-- really seems to want her for our family. I just am hesitant to do the pre-order thing if it's something I can just pick up in the store.

It says at the bottom of the page "This item is sold online only (not sold in stores)". I thought that meant online only. However I guess with TRU its always possible its a misleading statement. After the Funko debacle its always possible.

I could be wrong. I could be completely misreading it. Maybe its just a general description of why you would need store pick up? I would actually have thought they would have made the "online exclusive" larger if that was really the case.

I just dont want it to be true and people be waiting for her to hit shelves and then she never turns up.

I am the the type of person who  likes to see things in person. And it somehow strikes me as odd my husband responded so well to it. He likes it more than me, and I can't pin point why. I assume bc I like ponies, and we celebrate Chinese New Year , and other stuff...

It just would feel better to hold it in front of him and ask of he was super sure. I'm being stingy at the moment <_<;;; I suppose if it's online only and I hate it I could just resell ....

Here is a comparison picture showing the little/playful size ponies, the Fashion Style size (Fluttershy) and the 22cm size.  Looks like Chinese New Year Pinkie will be 22cm- which is quite a lot larger than the FS ponies.  That probably explains the higher price point.

Yeah- they are really big!  I think that the plain version of the Chinese Pinkie will make great custom fodder

(Also Fluttershy - she is not unique- the seller had 6 listed and I got 2 of them.
Rarity is very weird looking indeed.  I hope the official release isn't so bizarre. Her eyes are too far back on her head... I keep looking at her and can't figure why they did it that way. I REALLY hope it is just a QC reject- but the Taobao picture shows a similar "special" looking Rarity so I won't count on it.  May need to get Hannaliten to paint some new eyes for me...)
