Exactly copying another artist's work, enough that the two pieces are all but indistiguishable, isn't really on either though. At least vary the pose up if you want to do a variation on a theme. :/
Your recolors are really fun, but make sure you are asking the artists permission to edit and redistribute their work, and if the work isn't 100% yours make sure to credit the original artist
Actually, I saw a few Arial ponies on line and tried to copy it the best I could at the time. You may or may not notice that I couldn't quite get the tail or hair exactly the same, but very darn close.
The pose is what caught my attention in the first place, and I only made it as a gift.She never even asked for it, but she was so happy to get it, it made her day.It makes no difference now anyway. I couldn't make another if I wanted to. My right eye is gone and my left is half gone now from diabetic retinopathy.It gave me massive floaters and blind spots in both eyes.My graphic novel will remain unfinished and I can't paint at my previous level anymore.
