Heeeelp! Breyer Identification Website and/or Forum?
« on: October 05, 2013, 02:44:56 PM »
The world of Breyer collecting is such a big one, my eyes spin every time I think about stepping in! @_@

I'm still considering on whether or not I want to get started in Breyer collecting, but I'm trying to do research while I'm still deciding. And I'm having some trouble figuring out where to even start! I know if I wanted to start collecting MLP's there's not only great forums like this one but also super-detailed websites like Dream Valley, the MLP Wiki, and Strawberry Reef's ID site. Places that break down every single release, how it was released, and the year, with pictures, etc.

Is there anything out there like that for Breyers? I have a handful from my childhood that are in...well let's say gently used condition lol. I would like to find out what their value is today. And my biggest interest if I do get started collecting would be to find a website with checklists so I could work on collecting whole sets (like all the releases of an Arabian stallion, for example). I'm OCD so I like to have all the color variations of things like that lol.

Any Breyer collectors out there that could offer advice? ^_^
Thank you Thimble for my amazingly cute avatar!

Thanks for the help, guys. :)

It's a nice site, but it seems very incomplete! In fact they don't mention at all the 17 Breyers that make up the set Wind Dancers. (And that's the set that I just completed and got me into Breyers in the first place!) :\

My friend just gifted me the Breyer Animal Collector's Guide, a 400+ page full color book that weighs a ton but is full of awesome info. I'm looking through all the pics and drooling lol. No Wind Dancers here either, though! The book is copyright 2008 so it might have been published before the Wind Dancers were out.

Even incomplete identifyourbreyer is your best bet. Lol, Diamond persuaded me to join Blab far as model forums go. It's a good site to ask questions and such.
