The Worst Pony Name You've Ever Heard

You know, they did something awhile ago, where there was a test, and it would give you a name and you'd have to decide if it was a Stripper name or a My Little Pony name. . .

Gee, I wonder why?  Hahaha.

our radio station often has a contest for concert tickets called "Pony or Pornstar" they give you a name and you have to say whether it's a My Little Pony or a Porn star >.> I try to call in every time, because they can't stump me

a few I remember they used was Baby Cuddles, Cherries Jubilee, and Lickety Split

I played multiple versions of that game, but sometimes I get a couple wrong because they're G1 names :s and i'm not too familiar with G1

g3 and g4 are the ones I'd have trouble with, I know most of the G1 lol

What's funny about Spunky? Haven't you ever heard of someone being full of spunk? It's a good thing... Unless it means something different in England?

"Spunk" was a good descriptor at the time for someone who was full of life and energy, but nowadays some use it as slang for... the male liquid component that brings life into the world.

Would the pony name "Tossles" fall into that category too??   I was just recently made aware that the phrase "Toss Here" on the trash bins at Jimmy Johns would be very funny in Europe

I never liked Munchy either.

G2 name Moonshine is aweful adult for a child's toy.  So is Pina Colada.  But I like both those names anyway. 

For me, Pinkie Pie is the absolute worst (although I like her character).  It just sounds like a nickname for lady-parts!

For me, it's not really individual names, but naming trends that are annoying.  A list of my main gripes (these include ponies and non-ponies alike)-

~Literal or symbol-matching names (e.g. Ruby, Island Rainbow, Star Swirl, Wysteria, Cherry Blossom, Bowtie, Cupcake, Ribbon, Cotton Candy, Buttons, Parasol, Silver Spoon, Diamond Tiara etc.): They're just so unimaginative - and now in the G4 world, where a pony is named long before they have a symbol, it's not quite logical or realistic. 

~Human names (e.g. Tiffany, Susie, Lyra, Octavia, Serena, Trixie, Pristina, Gilda etc.): I prefer having the pony world be its own autonomous entity, with its own naming conventions.  Give me cutesy candy names and adjectives, please! 

~Pun names or word play-ons (e.g. Smart Cookie, Filthy Rich, Fancy Pants, Shining Armor, Iron Will, Babs Seed, Cranky Doodle Donkey, Mulia Mild): Something about G4 I'm not especially fond of.  Occasionally was fine (e.g. Hoity Toity in the first season), but since then it's become way more frequent, especially for one-off characters.  I enjoy bad puns actually, but as names?  No.

~Long or awkward names (e.g. Dancing Butterflies, Pink Sunsparkle, Up Up and Away, Tink-a-Tink-a-Too, Strawberry Surprise, Caribbean Delight, Owlowiscious etc.): I think once you go beyond four syllables, it's just a bit of a chore to say.  Two to four syllables work the best, in my opinion.

I love G2 but near the end they got lazy with names. The Fantastic Job  ponies and Wednesday Afternoon ponies have HORRIBLE names. Ms Painter? Butterfly Hunter? SO unoriginal! They are really pretty ponies too!

Names that I'm not too keen on: heaps of the G4 blind bags not even going to start listing them theres just TOO many.
Scootaloo, Spunky, Dots N Hearts, Snookums, Sticky, Player, Sportstime, Bunches O Fun, Fluffaluff, Good Morning Sunshine, Island Rainbow, Jolly Lolly, Paradise Island, Pink Sunsparkle, Tink-a-tink-a-too

Vanilla Treat - just plain Vanilla would have been better

Caramel/Peppermint  & Crunch Berry - loose the crunches & insert a softer name like  Pop

i mean sticky, is like a sticky note, right? ans sniffles likes to smell flowers, right? 

and great names so far! also good to know the story behind waterfire and sanddollar!(but the last one looks creepy)

Darn it, you people have ruined me! I can't ever look at pony names normally again!
Given, I have a gutter mind on occasion, so why half of these never occurred to me before is beyond me. Spunky definitely takes the cake though.

When it comes to names less easy to "corrupt" shall we say, Berries 'n Cherries kinda irks me. I love the pony, but it just sounds like random words to me. It just, doesn't really register as a name in my mind. I kind of really like Toola-Roola as a name though, I just find it fun to say.

yeah Banana Fluff and Shoeshine are pretty bad.  (This thread makes we manna post the same question in the Transformers forum.)

I'm fairly sure poor Erector is going to win that one. I know it's supposed to be a name referencing that he's an engineer, perhaps a reference to the old erector building sets, but really....yeah...
Hasbro sure has some, interesting, names in all of it's toy lines.

When a person has "the sniffles", they are sick with a runny nose.  I'm guessing because she's paired with her snot-filled-twin, Sticky probably refers to having sticky fingers, like a baby would get eating candy.     Unless Hasbro was trying (unsuccessfully) to make a reference to scratch-n-sniff stickers!   If they were,  Scratch and Sniff would've been better nick names

I had to explain to friends of mine that yes, there honestly IS a pony named 'Pillow Talk' and she was part of a sleepover set.

Still haven't lived that down.
