Monchichi fakies?
« on: September 27, 2013, 04:59:33 PM »
I found these toy hunting today. Do they look familiar to anybody? They all appear to be Monchichi-like foxes and they all have clippy hands, and the two brown ones have jingle bells in their tails. (The red one, curiously, does not.)

I think I used to have one of these actually ... like, some kind of variant on Monchichi.  Hmm.

Those look like Anne Geddes--probably knockoffs.  My baby bunny has clenched fists but shes a bit high up so I couldn't get a good look at her eyes (got her for Christmas one year and never took her out of her box)

Hmm... Anne Geddes did cross my mind, but these little toys have a very '80s feel to them, and Geddes didn't become popular until the '90s I think? Maybe they are a predecessor to the types of photography that she did. :)

Oh, and one more thing... I was messing with them and found that the red fox DOES in fact have a jingle bell in the tail. It's just lost its jingle due to age. :( I can feel it inside the fabric though. It makes more sense than making one without a bell while all the others had one.

Wow, just had an 80s clip-on-animal flashback! Never seen these ones, I had a regular Monchichi fakie, a regular rainbow fur Care Bear fakie, and and still have my clip-on panda, koala and tiny brown bear somewhere.
Hope you find out more about them!
