Vintage(?) doll ID help needed
« on: September 17, 2013, 07:26:45 PM »
howdy dollhouse denizens!
I'm helping my mom go through some dolls that were left to her by my grandmother and am wanting to put them on ebay, but we have no clue what company they are by as they have no markings.

Do any of you experts recognize any of these?

I think the first two are porcelain collectors dolls, they are sold in gift shops - brands like Leonardo, Alberon Dolls etc.

I dont know about the pair of dolls - but the little costume doll and baby is adorable, I have her in slightly different clothes with her baby and also in African dress with her baby on her back. I think they are 1960s, I have had mine since the early 1980s but was given them by a relative.

thanks gothmummy, very helpful. do you think asking 10$ each for them is asking too much?, I'm planning on putting them up on ebay

Honestly I dont know values - in the UK the vintage doll market has really collapsed, I have a large collection that I would sell some of but the values have gone down so much its not worth me parting with mine at the moment so they are just sitting there (taking up space LOL). It may be different in your area, I dont know, hopefully some US doll collectors will have better ideas for you. x

I would start with 5.00 each for all of them except for the international set that could start at 9.99.  Sadly the porcelain dolls have no value really as they were mass produced.

They are lovely! I agree with starting them low, and hopefully the bids will go up.
