The rug was easy to make, I had made a latch hook rug from a kit many years ago but I re-learnt how to do in in just a few seconds by watching a YouTube video (just search "latch hook rug"). It worked out expensive (£150+) but I bought supplies as and when I needed over a few months so was not so bad. The main things you need are rug canvas, rug wool (or you could use yarn or rags), latch hook tool, rug wool cutting gauge if not using pre-cut wool, sharp scissors. You also need a design to work from. Once the latch hooking is complete you also need supplies to bind it (more wool, binding tape, thread, needles).

I bought most of the supplies I needed online from www.iriss.co.uk. They also sell a G1 Applejack rug making kit http://www.iriss.co.uk/product.php?xProd=436. This must have been how I initially found the website but I decided to come up with my own design.
