Ever wish you had a different first name?

I dont wish I had a diff first name cuz I go by my middle name David BUT I do wish my middle name was diff my full name is William David Hicks BUT!!!!! if my middle name was Robert my name could be BILLY BOB HICKS lol the most redneck name of ALL TIME!!!! It would be funny anyways

I sure do-  I don't hate my name and am grateful that it isn't something obnoxious or insane -  but Sarah is one of the most common names on the planet, and there is no real satisfactory nick-name, which everyone had as a kid but me....


I've always been jelly of people who could use "Cat" as a nickname which I think is the cutest nickname ever...

My friend Sarah goes by Sari (rhymes with beary).  I always thought Sari (like the Indian garment) would be a wonderful Sarah nick name.  Sarah also gets Sarabee.

I generally go by Kate, which I like now.  My name is Katherine, and over my life I've always been called some derivative of that, but never Katherine.  I am not a Katherine.  When I was a kid I remember wanting to be called Kimber, because of Jem.

Oh, heck yeah!  Since I learned people could change their names, I've longed to do so (the more so since my name is a diminutive, and, um, uniquely spelled to boot).

I'd love to have been a Willow, or a Juniper, Holly, or Rowan.  Holly would've been especially nice, since I am the resident holiday fanatic round my neck of the woods.

I like my name.  Although it's Ashley, it was fairly uncommon when I was little.  I never had anyone at school with my name until I was a senior in high school.  Then it got popular in the 90s, so then there were a ton of little kids with that name.  But when my parents named me, they said people gave them funny looks because it just wasn't common. But they had considered the name Alexandra, but my dad didn't want people to call me Alex.

So as a kid of the late 70s and 80s, I was glad to not have an 80s name like Jennifer or Nicole.  Not that I don't like those names too, but I had about 3 or 4 in each class growing up.

My name is Kristan Unique spelling for a very common name xD My family rarely calls me that xD They call me Peep; my license plate actually says Peep Apparently I had large eyes as a baby hence that name Peep. Occasionally I wish I could change my name to a more common spelling so I can easily get cheesy personalized gifts

Mine's Caitlin but people close to me call me Cat, Cait, Kae, Kitty.  I don't mind my first name at all anymore.  My surname however... ^^'  It's one of those good old German-how-do-you-spell/pronounce-that-names.

My name is Katherine but for the most part I go by Katie. My boyfriend calls me Kate which I think is cute I guess I like my name and always have. My middle name is Jo which is the same as my moms. When I was younger I wished it was Josephine lol.

I don't mean any offense to anyone, but seeing all of these differently-spelled names makes me happy mine's is spelled simply. Not that they're not lovely or anything, but I'm a stickler for spelling, so getting my name spelled wrong on cards or gifts would be a huge pet peeve. xD
