Aurora Plushie Question
« on: September 10, 2013, 06:23:02 PM »
For any of you who have the Pinkie Pie or Applejack Aurora plushies, could you tell me more about the little sparkly things in their hair? How well attached are they? Do you think it would be possible to remove them with some effort?

To me they just look like little sparkles, I think you could remove them but it would just be time consuming. Maybe with a small xacto knife or something?

if it's the ones i'm thinking of (have at work) then the sparkles are part of the fabric.

I dunno... the underside of the hair doesn't have the glitter... Still looks like it could come off to me... I have her in my hands right now, Applejack anyway.

They are part of the fabric but could probably be cut off, but it'd be a lot of work!

I was wondering about the glittery parts as well as I don't have them, either. Hopefully this isn't hijacking the thread but I had a further question as to whether there is a difference in between the 6.5 and 10" versions (i.e. is the glitter in the same place, etc.?)

I can't help with that, I only have the small one... and yeah it'd be a ton of work to get it all off of them!

*runs off to grab both my Applejack plushies*

The sparkles are in the fabric... but... how do I describe this..... It's like gold glitter securely glued on top of the fabric. I tried to scratch at one with my fingernail and it wouldn't come off.

Differences in the sizes..... The sparkles are in the same places on both sizes. The only real differences are that big AJ has lines sewn into her tail and an extra "lock" of "hair" in her mane.

I wonder if some kind of solvent could remove them without completely destroying the fabric. I'm very curious about this. Almost enough to buy a little one to test.

The gold dots on our plush are just little stickers. This is most noticeable on Applejack's tail since they only placed stickers one side. ( Sadly it was on the side without of the cutie mark. )
That said, it would be a pain to get all of the little guys off since they are stuck well.

BTW: The build-a-bear cowboy hat works well with the 10 inch Applejack.

Thanks! I was just curious as I couldn't really tell if there were differences from the promo shots I'd seen and I've not seen any non-promo photos yet. :)

Yes that's what I was trying to describe. I don't want to try on my own but with a xacto I think you could rip them off... but they are on there so they're not falling off easily or anything

I dont think it would be any different than removing diamantés or other stitched/glued in glitter studs and I have done that over the years when revamping clothing or accessories. To be honest I have never found a faster or better for the fabric way than literally unpicking each one. So possible yes...time consuming certainly.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
