I just noticed that the mane doesn't go all the way up the head.... it looks a little odd-  although I guess real ponies don't have manes that go down their noses, so I should probably complain more about baby Firefly.   But she's just so much cuter!!

I don't think it's fair that they abuse of the collectors. If they had the pony, they should have shown it. But they created expectations, and maybe many of you didn't expect a mini G1 version of the original Firefly, but I'm sure others did. And that, is a dissatisfied constumer. If they aren't going to release G1s, then don't. But don't try and sell me those... ponies as if they were retro.
Do the t-shirts, bags, cups, coaster... whatever with the retro art. That doesn't cost them much production money.

LadyPinwheel, have you seen G1 coasters? If so, where? Had to ask because I would NEED those!

Yeap! I bought them in Tokyo 5 years ago.

If she had a smaller head or bigger eyes, she'd be perfect. She's living in the box because hey at least a cute box is cute...

Aw that picture looks like baby Firefly had a baby.
So that would make her "Baby Baby Firefly" then? (this is actually something I've often wondered about the baby G1s).
I will confess to being a brony, but I assure you that the things you may not like about them do not apply to me, I mostly keep the fandom name due to nostaligia, but I do genuinely love MLP as a whole, not just FIM, and not just the popularity of FIM - I genuinely love the show (and all the others)

Back on topic - With most other pony releases, we have a fair idea of who is going to appear as they appear on Taobao. This Firefly didn't appear on Taobao or on any of the other sites as far as I'm aware...does this mean she wasn't produced in that part of Asia? Maybe somewhere else? Just fishing for the next release (if any) and also maybe...someone to contact about how the design is OK but how it could be so much better.

I *LOVE* those coasters!!

Okay, little FrankenFly is growing on me.  When I see her in Wal-Mart, I think I'll go ahead and pick her up.  But I may add some bangs or just go ahead and rehair her with regular pony hair if her hair is different from what I've got on hand.

I really wanted the Rainbow retro sets but never could find them here.  I would have gotten the Collector pony sets but I've always found the Collector ponies to be pretty boring.  *ducks fakies*

No. It just means she was never sold as excess, unrequired or damaged stock to third party sellers. Not every factory or every factory manager or every production line ends up on Taobao so unfortunately its not indication. For a cheap plastic toy, I would be surprised if she was manufactured anywhere other than China, Taiwan, India, Bangladesh or similar.

Kind of like Chibi-Chibi Moon. Now I want to dress up Firefly in a Sailor Moon outfit.

That makes sense :) Kind of a shame, but the mind boggles at what factory errors FrankenFly would have produced :D

I wonder if you can heat up the body and then overstuff it with something to make it a bit bigger to match the head.
