whats with the difference?

so i was going through my ponys.. and i noticed that these two girls are different..  i tried to photograph it  but not sure if you can tell very well.
the one  on the top  her  symbol  her sun is   different and  bigger, even her clouds are  different sized and shaped. she is also a darker blue.   

the one on the bototm is a light blue. her  symbols   the   sun is defntly smaller and not as fat. and the  cloud is shaped differntly.

i even have a repro  in 2007 and i doublechecked it.. and  its   symbols are   i belive the same  as the top ones. so  whats with the differences? there  both made in hong kong and   from the  80s.  i suppose the ligtness could be from fading.

Factory variation & aging, most likely.  There were millions of ponies made, it's actually rather surprising there isn't more variation than what we do see.  It's common especially with the early ponies to see variants in color, symbol size and the like.  Variations in the "black" used for the eye outline, amount and placement of blush, spacing of hair plugs, placement of the mane, and more are out there.

okies! lol i was gonna thin outh te herd a bit and get rid of some of my doubles and wanted to make sure   that i wasnt getting  rid   of a rarer  pony or anyhting lol

I would say minor factory differences, and the sun for the color.

Sunlight got a very wide release - in multiple countries. Goodness knows the quantities in which she was produced. I have seen lots of minor variations in the early ponies over the years most of it can probably be explained by either the environment they have been exposed to since production or simply different batches at different times of manufacture.
