Is this mould or cancer?
« on: August 19, 2013, 08:19:41 AM »
Are these spots mould or cancer? It's Medley btw. She doesn't smell like mould or any other bad smell, she actually smells MLP. She's clean on the inside, just has those spots on her neck and inner neckring. Maybe that her body and hair was a bit sticky, as in plasticisers leaking sticky, but I don't know if Medley is one of the ponies that is known for doing that.

It looks like cancer/age spots.  I have also noticed that the ponies with age spots that I've got, have been a little sticky. Dunno if it is a coincident.

I suppose age spots are better than mould, if it is true that they're not contagious. I don't have to do some deep cleaning. I really don't want to remove the tail and clean it inside, I've never had great success with that. The head has been thoroughly cleaned at least. Let's hope it takes a couple of years for the spots to spread, if that's their agenda.

Well, it's not contagious and I don't have to remove her tail - so happy for that, I suck at tail-removing. The spots are in a quite okay place and when she's assembled only 1 1/2 are showing, at least for now.

Sorry for spamming with pictures but here's what she looks like after I used the acetone and needle wiggling technique. I also did it with cillit bang that contains chlorine. The spot faded a bit. The colour on her looks different because I took the photos at different times during the day - on different days as well.
