I've never liked the feeling of people looking or talking about me, but this time it was ok because I knew exactly what they were talking about! You could just hear whispers of "dragon" everywhere I walked. The best part was all the children who thought she was real. One boy pet her and then pulled his hand away really fast like she was going to bite him.

I really liked the way she turned out, however, I am going to have to rework my design next time, because this first run turned out heavier than I wanted; I still have bruises on my shoulders from where she sat over a week ago!

Oh very cool!  I love the fire lizard!  What did you make her out of?  I haven't gone yet, but I do plan to go the LA renfair in the fall. It's such fun.

Our festival is always in the fall.  I use to love to go there dressed up in Xena attire (I was Gabby) and at that time, they always let me bring in my weapons lol.  I like your dragon.  We have this guy that dresses up as a Centaur and his costume is so realistic its hard to believe he isn't one.  The festivals are lots of fun.  I could see where the dragon might be heavy resting on your shoulder all day.

I'm going in September, the Cincinnati one starts then. It's going to be fun. I love the food!  I have a costume too.. black skirt, black shirt, blue lace corset overlay, I just need boots.  I also have a tiara thing. Sorry, don't know the real names LOL

Very nice fire lizard!  I haven't been to a Ren fair in years.  I used to go to Texas's every year.

I haven't been to a Ren fair this summer, but I went to one nearby with my english class last fall. I didn't have a costume to wear but it would have been fun! I came so close to buying a real wolf tail but I talked myself out of it. They were cute.

I actually went yesterday and have a thread posted up about my costume. Since it rained, we didn't get any pictures. Well, I can't say that. We got one after the weather cleared up.  We're going again Oct 27th with Ginger and her boyfriend for my birthday/anniversary.

Oh very cool!  I love the fire lizard!  What did you make her out of?  I haven't gone yet, but I do plan to go the LA renfair in the fall. It's such fun. 

There is a hollow wire frame and metal mesh making her basic form, then I mostly used apoxie, until I realized I was running out, then I made the rest of the body in an air dry clay and finished the details in apoxie. The wings are movable and are a paper, hot glue, and plastic dip mixture.

I wanted to go to tne NY Ren festival but I wor every weeend  Plus no one is willing to drive me anyways.

I did go to the Arizona Ren festival a few years ago though  in costume too

Yeah, going in costume is my favorite part, well, next to people watching everyone else in costume. I love seeing what all the super dedicated people come up with!
