Pining for ponies.
« on: August 10, 2013, 11:08:44 AM »
Ever get that feeling when you are absolutely PINING for ponies? You can't get them because no-one is selling, your ones expected in the mail still haven't arrived or you don't have enough money? I have that right now! XD
So, what do you people do to beat the pining? Me? I eat cold Yorkshire puddings with horseradish sauce and watch 'Failure to Launch'! XD

Come on, give us your fun ways to beat the pony pines!

oooohh, didn't think of that! Thank you both!

Saweet, I'm going to browse eBay a little longer, then off to groom some ponies. I have some lovelies in storage, so I may as well get them out and beautify them again. Would be better if I wasn't so exhausted, been sailing all day and still feel like I'm on a boat, yucky sea-sick feeling!

I trawl ebay :P

If I "need" something and am unable to find it here, other forums or ebay, then I get grumpy...solution? Spending money on ponies and accessories which I normally dont need in order to fill the gap until the pony I do want comes along.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Yep, I just go through my pony shelves and have a spa day as well. Right now I'm working on conditioning and curling all my flutter ponies' hair! ^-^

Pony salon day sounds great.  I am on a buying hiatus now until my holiday in September when I shall be trawling carboot sales and charity shops for pony goodness!!

But yeah it stinks when you cannot buy what you need.  I would do the pony salon day followed by a photo shoot with my ponies dressed up and looking good, then a cataloging session, updating my pony books with new pony purchases, merch and accessories!!

I don't need drinking buddies - I need brushing buddies   :hifive:

I take pictures of the ones I have and try to appreciate them instead of being anxious about not being able to get new ones. (During these times I also tend to buy random pony merch. I don't need  :lookround: ) I'll also re-evaluate my pony wishlist to make sure all the ponies on it are ones I reeeaaally want or I'll focus on one of my other collections/hobbies for a while.  ;)

I'm going through that right now, too! To help me better appreciate what I already have, I'm giving my collection room a complete overhaul x__X I also have about 30 ponies or more who need their hair done, so I'll be doing that to give me a little extra satisfaction for when my room is all ready for all of my displays ^.^

I like the idea of doing customs to get that "oh I have a new pony!" feeling, too :)

oh yes, me too, I am always behind on rehairing and ponies waiting for spa treatment so if I am pining for ponies I get on with some cleaning, prettying up and then adding them to my database :)

I like to go on ebay and see how many ponies are over priced. It makes me laugh and think about the ones that I hope to get someday. And I also go and sit down and look at my ponies when I want more. Sometimes it works.  If I don't have the money then I do not get them.

I buy blindbags.  That's my pony-fix-fixer of the moment. :P  Trying to limit myself to two or three... when my Walmart actually has them, that is.

I've also discovered a great pine-filler in the form of kawaii stickers and stationery - it's not too expensive, and readily available from all sorts of sellers, and it doesn't take up much room, either (blessedly!).  Fulfills my need to spend on something cute, but doesn't do too much damage. :P

Oh, now I'm pining for Yorkshire pudding!  I need to make roast beef soon so I can make some of those... 'course, it needs to cool down somewhat so I can have the oven on long enough... :hot:

Wishlist - I'm back on (semi-) active buying again... can't buy everything on my wish list all at once (yay, back-to-school and tuition fees), but I am still looking to plump up my collection a bit more: http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,380638.0.html
