G4's - "Pointy and Weird"

I just had a family member bust on me for collecting G4's.

When I asked which of my collection was her favorite, I got the response "I don't like any of them.  They are pointy and weird."

My friends (who are not into MLP) don't like G4 ponies either. They prefer G1 and G3 ponies.
According to them, G4 ponies really don't look like ponies.
One of them loved G1 Applejack as a kid and she was pretty dissapointed by what she was turned into.

No I am completely agree with the weird...multi coloured ponies with symbols on their hips and who dont look anything like ponies? Yeah, I can see someone thinking them weird But pointy? Thats a new one on me!

My little cousin doesn't like them...she dislikes anything that has come out after the middle of G3.  She doesn't like G2s either.

They do look like deer.  I like thier pointy noses and ears.

They take some getting used to, especially if you're more familiar with the classic ponies.  But the cartoon helps enormously in that respect.   You just need to sit your family member down and thoroughly indoctrinate them show them a few episodes of FiM.

I have to agree to some extent... They really don't look that much like ponies, while it is true they have pony traits but still... as for the pointy, that's why I don't like the official art for them... they ARE pointy there

I like g4s and I think they're cute but they are a bit deer-like. . ,
