Show me some alternate re-hairs - Thread II

It's amazing how much different ponies look with new hair colours.  I am liking ponies in this thread that I never really appreciated in the Hasbro form!

DP - I trade a lot for baits personally... But, if I want something specific I usually have to buy it... there are plenty of baits out there for like $6-8 a piece, for me that's way too rich of a price unless I'm getting a "grail" for rehairing - most of my baits are like $1-2 a piece... or you get ponies in groups off eBay and some of them are just nasty...

I restore always before I rehair though - like, I just got a Glow in a lot of ponies, she would've been a perfect rehair candidate, but - I've been able to restore her and I think I'm gonna sell her as original instead of rehaired...

There's a lot of "trends" with rehairing too, everyone likes Brothers, everyone likes Wingers... people are always looking for those...

Okay I have to ask, where do you guys get SO many baits?! It is so hard for me to find ponies with bad enough hair but relatively nice bodies for rehairing!

I customise a lot, so I hoard baits! I actually have a whole wall full of stack boxes. I go thru when I feel like it, and what ever cannot be restored, or rehaired, is customised! Anything that can be restored, is. anything that just needs hair, just gets hair. I buy a lot from here and also ebay!
I also get some in swaps and trades!

I have been stalking these threads for a while now (and loving it). I finally have something of my own to contribute. A Little background - TAF Merriweather was the first pony I (at 6 years old) ever purchased for myself with my allowance. I was crazy about purple and rainbows (of course rainbows), but I remember wishing for a different hair color even when I was in the pony aisle picking her out. I still have my childhood Merriweather (with original perfect hair), and recently came across another in need of hair. So here she is, the wish fulfillment of a 6 year old me.

Dang Saja! To think I hoarded baits for customizing! I really hoard hair though, I have tons of that

Sunshine, I guess the influx of people doing awesome rehairs means ebay sales of some rehair baits are just harder to come by! I must search harder *nods*

Let me know if you're looking for something specific... I dumped all my rehair ponies today and I have a decent box full of them... lol

I mean once you start I think you always just hoard baits... I stopped selling anything "baity" in my store because I could just rehair them most of the time (unless it's one that truly needs a FBR-customization, which I can't do) - so, you know, there are alot of us softies who rehair who I'm sure would be happy to help you track down a certain bait for a specific project!
