Talking Nightmare Moon worth getting?
« on: August 08, 2013, 04:35:00 PM »
Gah! I'm so indecisive lol I guess it doesn't help that I just spent $45 on Build A Bear Spike and Twilicorn two weeks ago, and some trading cards here and there, but I basically really want the new talking Nightmare Moon. I kind of feel guilty about wanting her let alone buying her. I do have a job as you all probably know from my previous "waaah! which ponies should i getz" posts :P What do you think? Is Nightmare Moon worth getting, or should I just skip this one for now? The fate of my wallet depends on yoooooouuu  :| (jk, haha! in all seriousness though).

For me, she looks close enough to the Favorite's collection NMM that I don't need her. I think it depends on how important her features are to you. She's got lots of stylable hair, is a rarely released character, and speaks all of her lines about princess hair and whatnot. :P

So:

Is Nightmare Moon an important/favorite character for you?
Is playing with her something you want to do? (Flying her to her castle and brushing her pretty hair)
Do the phrases she speaks deteremine whether or not you want to play with her?
If you miss out on her, or had to buy her secondhand, would that diminish your want for her?

I'd say, if you want her, go for her. If you're just in the habit of buying all the new releases (I know I was for a while!) maybe wait for a while.

I really love Nightmare Moon, so I know I want to get her, but I have a lot of obligations coming up in the next few months (home insurance, car maintenance, passport renewal) and I bought a lot of ponies at the MLP Fair, so I'm going to wait until November to get her.

I would say give it a few weeks and at the end of that ask yourself if you still really want her; if you do, save up for her, if you have mostly forgotten about her, then you didn't really want her that badly.

I'm waiting for a good sale or the Christmas holiday season. I think Celestia got dropped to $16.99 around that time last year.

I would like to get her, but only if she is on sale. I do not like the full price that are on ponies. I got one of my other talking ponies for $6.00 new. They had a sale and I had a coupon :)

There was a thread about her phrases a little while back. Very tame stuff about putting clips in her hair and being a pretty princess. She also talks about the night sky and stuff.

I think this video has some of them? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43Km6xAzZdE

I know the feeling! They are putting all this new stuff out all at the same time and my wallet can't take this beating it's getting, so talking NMM will have to wait until Christmas most likely.

Awwwww!  It's NIGHTMARE MOON.  Not 'My sweet fluffy princess' or whatever.  WHY can't we have ONE villain toy that cackles and shrieks about eating your firstborn and causing global anarchy?  *Cries*

If you are havering over it or are in a situation you can not afford it, then I say no. Ponies are great but they are not worth stressing about...I think from the number of threads you have on making a decision sometimes its a good idea to sit back and reassess. Do you need this pony right now? Or can it wait? She is not going to be hard to track down in the future whether MIB or second hand. You wont be missing out if you skip her this time around.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
