Thanks! I can't wait to see your answers.

Answering my own questions while I wait for pizza. Sleepy!

What do you write?

I write non-fiction mainly. Web content, press releases, etc. I also write blog posts (also non-fiction) for people and of course, myself. And I have a young adult novel in the works. It's.. meh. It exists?

Fiction? Non-fiction?

Both!

What are you working on now?

Some press releases, web page content, I just got a new writing job and am waiting to hear back about another.  Super happy about that. My non-pay project is a series of ebooks! I am super excited. I brainstormed several ebook ideas - all non-fiction - and am typing away. Not fast enough though! I hope to have the first one for sale on Amazon end of August, but we'll see.

What's your favorite thing to write?

Young adult comedy.. and also.. ebooks!

Are you published anywhere?

Just the internets.

Do you have writer's block? How do you cure it?

For fiction? Like crazy. For non-fiction? No. I cure writer's block with a shower, music, freewriting, reading good books, etc.  I have terrible self doubt too, but all writers do, so.. eh.

Do you write to music?

Exclusively. I can only listen to instrumental music when I write so I listen to French pop, instrumental, movie scores, acoustic tributes, string quartets, etc. I'm really enjoying this series of lullabies actually, called "twinkle twinkle little rock star.." it's rock songs made into lullabies.. pretty good at getting me thinking!

What genre could you never write?

Um...western...science fiction, though I dabbled as a kid. Probably high fantasy, though I do have this king and queen and princess story percolating. Never say never! Historical fiction, I used to say, until I got an idea for one..

Read any books or blogs on writing and want to recommend some?

I really like elizabethcraig on twitter, amandaonwriting.tumblr.com, chuck wendig (his website isn't pg friendly, so google his name), j.a. konrath's blog and I like absolutewriting.com forums.

What do you write?
I like to write fantasy, and about spirits and ghosts.
Fiction? Non-fiction?
Fiction!
What are you working on now?
Right now... trying to get myself to start writing again. I suddenly stopped writing, and I've had trouble getting myself going again. I've been blogging my ideas so I can't forget them, and so I can build on them. I want to get myself into gear on my high fantasy writing.
What's your favorite thing to write?
I guess about new worlds, about fantastic creatures and monsters.
Are you published anywhere?
I've got some fanfiction published online? Nothing serious ever.
Do you have writer's block? How do you cure it?
I have writer's anxiety... If I'm stuck on a boring scene or nervous about getting it right it'll take me weeks to start in on it. Perfectionist tendencies... :P
Do you write to music?
I have some great Glitch music that I think would be good to write to, but I haven't yet.
What genre could you never write?
I think superhero stuff or space-agey stuff... I had a little idea for a superhero origin story, but heroes really bore me. Not my genres.
Read any books or blogs on writing and want to recommend some?
I was reading some tips from WritersDigest to encourage myself to get started again. Other than that.... nope.

My turn!
What do you write?
I like to write mysteries. With supernatural themes.
Fiction? Non-fiction?
Fiction.
What are you working on now?
I'm working on two books right now unrelated.
What's your favorite thing to write?
I like to write about girls dealing with and over coming personal issues and learning to stand for themselves.
Are you published anywhere?
No, but someday hopefully.
Do you have writer's block? How do you cure it?
All the times! I cure by taking a brake from one book and working on the other.
Do you write to music?
Sometimes and other times to the TV in the background.
What genre could you never write?
I don't really know, I've never thought about it.
Read any books or blogs on writing and want to recommend some?
No.

Oh.. I write fiction, urban fantasy and magical realism (I guess...)

What are you working on now?
My writing is stalled whilst I am proof reading and editing my husband's children's book... but I want to get back into it and so am marking my place in this thread for inspiration :)

What's your favorite thing to write?

I like stories that incorporate the old myths of the British Isles in a modern setting.

Are you published anywhere?
Only in Twinkle Girls Magazine in 1986 LOL!!

Do you have writer's block? How do you cure it?
Taking a complete break until inspiration returns.

Do you write to music?
Music is generally on in the household, so yeah. Its not generally my choice of music though.

What genre could you never write?
Thrillers or murder mystery or horror especially not anything involving children.

I have never read any books about creative writing..... But I did once go on a fantasy writers convention and listened to Neil Gaimen speak and that was good :) :)

I am not writing at the moment but I need to write down things based off of dreams ive been having.  I have a whole world based off of them :)

My brother and I had a few bits of poetry recognized back in school too--it kind of runs in the family though I took more of the artistic side of things :)

What do you write?
The kind of stories where magic is a commonplace science, faeries exist as a separate classification, the multiverse consists of several planes layered on top of each other in a millefeuille of ontological madness, and terrible things happen to small children.

Fiction? Non-fiction?
Fiction. Though I do have some fun writing sort-of non-fiction documents present in-universe.

What are you working on now?
Tuppence for Stardust, mainly, and related drabbles/ideas/possible future sequel.

What's your favourite thing to write?
Scientific magic, the comedy of humours, chaotic faeries, gay, the inherent suckiness of immortality, a world of snark, and teenage girls.

Are you published anywhere?
Does the Internet count? It totally counts, right? Of course it counts. I HAVE 26 FOLLOWERS

Do you have writer's block? How do you cure it?
Well, of course. And I usually cure it by ignoring it until it goes away. Just like I do with all my problems.

Do you write to music?
No. Drawing, yes, but with writing it just distracts me.

What genre could you never write?
Romance or lit-fic. The first because I'm about as romantic as a rock, and the latter because I have a compulsion to look at everything and think, 'Needs more wizards.'

Read any books or blogs on writing and want to recommend some?
I don't believe in reading about writing. I just believe in reading books, period.

What do you write? books, short stories, blurbs, blog posts
Fiction? Non-fiction? mostly fiction and creative non-fiction
What are you working on now? a YA werewolf novel
What's your favorite thing to write? "monster" fantasy
Are you published anywhere? a little bit
Do you have writer's block? How do you cure it? I kicked my muse in the stomach. No, seriously. It comes and goes and I just have to suffer through it and push on. What did Stephen King say?
“Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work.”
I'm trying to live by that.
Do you write to music? Often. I make playlists for the books I am working on, like soundtracks to movies.
What genre could you never write? technical non fiction, aliens, westerns,
Read any books or blogs on writing and want to recommend some?
King's "On Writing" is one of the best books on the subject that I have read. Also I just got highly recommended "Bird by Bird".
