Damaged Exclusive due to Hasbro's careless packing

Despite being disappointed with the exclusive and having sold mine, I decided to get another one anyway.  So, I get my DJ Pon3 in the mail today, and two sides of the clear plastic display box are smashed in and cracked!  It arrived, along with another exclusive I ordered (which was thankfully fine) in a huge box with a moderate amount of brown crumped paper.  It literally looked like they were just thrown in there.  There was nothing to prevent them from moving around.

It's kind of hard to see in this last pic, but the plastic is smashed in so deeply that there is actually a puncture.

I've already sent these pics to Hasbro.  I'm really angry about this.   :mad:

Oh I would not be very happy with that! You paid a lot of money for it and it should come to with no issues!

I agree for an "adult collectible" it should arrive in perfect condition.
There is no excuse for them to arrived damaged especially since they are designed to be kept in the box for display.
I hope they just send you new ones.

Oh no! I'm sorry that happened to you.  I can imagine that would be very disappointing, given the price and that it is from Hasbro :(  I hope they will do something for you to make up for this- maybe they can send you another at no charge and let you keep the damaged one?

I've emailed them pics and have asked for a refund.  I'm hoping they won't make me mail back the other one, unless they reimburse me for the shipping on it.

I really hope they are willing to either reimburse or send you a new one. That's just really piss poor on their part for not adding adequate packing materials, especially since the box is it's display case.  :throw:

That's just awful.  These cost a fortune and for them to be packaged so shoddily is sheer negligence.  I mean these really are supposed to stay in the box, and its designed to be in the box like this, so you'd think they'd be packaged with extra care.

You should get either a full refund or replacement for this.

I hope they get back to you with want you want to hear!!! I always hate having to deal with damaged good that I get in the mail.

:crazy:  thats just not right! Hasbro know this is a collectible item, they should take better care with the packaging :throw: . I'm glad that you contacted them about it- they really should give you a refund /replacement

I don't get it, I really don't. They mark this item a collectible themselves! They send the item themselves, I fail to see an excuse for such poor handling :S How can they, as a company, be so careless with their reputation.

In my opinion, Hasbro is very good about resolving such things (well, Hasbro NL at least). I had a g4 Rarity/w flaws and a complain on the Rarity Carousel playset (long story and over a year ago)
Hasbro send me an email back quick with the promise of a new Rarity and another set.
I've got both (and never had to send back my damaged Rarity or anything), the extra set was the Applejack sleepover pack. It was really nice that they took my complaints seriously, i hope they will help you with this!

I'm generally not a MIB collector(space issues), but even I'd be pretty cheesed off if they sent me a damaged DJ.  Most of the value of that particular item IS the box.  A damaged box is a very serious flaw.

I hope Hasbro fixes this, and quickly!

As far as the poor packing job goes, I think that is because Hasbro themselves don't handle the shipping. When I ordered an exclusive from their site a few years ago, I was surprised to find that it shipped from a warehouse less than an hour away from me! :blink: After doing a little research, I found that it was a third party shipping company. If Hasbro is still using that company (or one similar), its likely that the person doing the packing has no idea that the certain items are meant to stay in the box, and probably doesn't know the difference between a collector's item & a regular toy order. Of course that's no excuse for receiving something in that condition, but hopefully that answers "why would Hasbro do this?"

I do hope you can get some kind of resolution from Hasbro's customer service! At the price they charged for this year's exclusive, there's no room for this kind of error. Best of luck to you!! :)

I heard back from Hasbro.  I have the choice of returning the figure for a full refund by using a prepaid mailing label (that they will send me), or I can keep the damaged pony and get 10% of my total order back (I ordered about $100 worth of stuff, so $10).  I'm kind of annoyed that I have to go to the trouble of sending back the pony (why should I have to do legwork for their mistake?), but at least I'll be getting a refund.

Hm, i understand you're annoyd about sending the pony back, again the shipping thing (will they refund that?)

They weren't so difficult with me, i never had to return damaged Rarity or the Carousel set when i got their free set as compensation. Is it possible that US based Hasbro works differently? I guess so :/
