Wow, that is quite the setup! Great job :D And the piggies are so cute.
Thanks! :).
aww, cute piggies!
I had one as a kid :D it was so fun. One day I'll have another one, but that's when I don't have inside cats and doggies.

We don't have cats, but we have chihuahuas. They aren't allowed in the piggie room unless we are sitting in there. We have a baby gate to block off the room. It works out pretty well :).

That setup looks like so much fun, & your piggies are all gorgeous  ^.^

Oh its fantastic! Could you tell me what you used to make the cage - was it Cubes and Corex (I have read about this contstruction but I dont think those cubes are sold in the UK)

i dont have any guinea pigs right now as my last one died a few months ago, she was called Evangeline (after the Icicle Works song. Here she is:

I have been talking to my husband about getting another guinea pig but he thinks we have too many animals at the moment.

Thanks! :). It's very used friendly too. We have it set up so that all of the fronts of the levels fold down for easy cleaning.

Awww your piggie was adorable!

They are C&C cages. (Cubes and coroplast). We get big sheets of the coroplast from Home Depot. The cubes can be found at Bed Bath and Beyond, Kmart, etc.

The cubes are essentially this:
http://m.homedepot.com/p/Honey-Can-Do-30-375-in-x-44-625-in-Silver-Stackable-6-Cube-Organizer-SHF-01794/203215487/

But they're much cheaper at Kmart. I'm not sure where they would be found in the UK, but I'm sure they could be found somewhere.

There's a great website called www.guineapigcages.com that has loads of info and ideas!

ooh thanks I will have to get on the UK guinea pig forums, Im sure someone has sourced those cubes somewhere. I currently have a house rabbit who has an adapted dog crate (it was my labrador's).  I would like to get a C&C set up before we get piggies again. I kept mine in large Ferplast cages but they always feel a bit small :(

Yeah, I really like the C&C cages because you can make them bigger and customize them. Plus it makes for happier piggies :).

Just one thing... does all the fleece not start to smell very quickly when they wee on it?
I tried fleece blankets with my rabbit.. she ripped them up LOL.

No, it doesn't smell. The fleece wicks the pee down to the puppy pads. And we wash the fleece once a week.

Ahhh. I see. Yeah, I tried puppy pads under the fleecce for the bunny but she ripped them up too, which is presumably why that didnt work. Guinea pigs are less desctructive!

Your set up is awesome! You should be proud of yourselves for being such good pet owners :)

Yeah our guineas aren't too destructive xD.

And thank you! My SO is a vet tech at an animal hospital and is going to school to be a vet, so we are rather animal-savy (for lack of a better word lol)

I still have my huge explorer cage from when I had my ratties. Maybe one day it'll be the home of piggies but not quite sure if they would enjoy the two layers. Thanks for that guinea site by the way, I saved it for later references :)
